The following was submitted by Jim Neymeyer:

I thought the attached scan of a card would be appreciated by people wanting to view pieces of St. Mary's History. It belonged to my Great Grandfather Albert Neymeyer who immigrated here around 1870 from Tunsel im Breisgau, Germany, (then Baden).

Later, it belonged to his son, my Grandfather John Neymeyer. His daughter Marie wrote her name on it and their address. (I thought about
erasing her writing but it, albeit unwanted on such a document, is part of that history.)

I will never forget Monsignor Burkley saying to me each time I saw him....."I remember the day I married John and Iva" my Paternal Grandparents.

The card reads:

In memory of the first Mass
of Reverend
Edmund A. Burkley
offered at
Saint Mary's Church,
Columbus Ohio,
Sunday, the 27th of August 1905

Ordained a Priest
by His Excellency
Bishop J.J. Hartley D.D.
Columbus, Ohio
On 25th of August 1905

When you pray think of me
When I say Mass I will think of you
