Notes from the Pastor
In your charity please pray for the following who have died:
William Cannon, whose family had connections with Holy Family High School. He drove the hearse for Father Pendolphi's parents and for Father Pendolphi. I offered his Funeral Mass at Mother of Sorrows Chapel last Tuesday. Also, remember in prayer Cookie Zingarelli who was a member of Secular Third Order of St. Francis and a very close friend of the late Sister Mary Francis Peters. She was a very joyful spirit. I had her funeral this past Thursday at Christ the King Church. May they rest in peace.
Hail to the Class of 1961 celebrating their 55th Anniversary of their graduation from St. Mary's. I've gone through the records very carefully-- 7 graduates owe book fines which now total $83,000. Several others have detentions to fulfill and can get their service hours in by spending lots of money at the Parish Festival.
Blessings and peace to our visiting missionary, Father Johnson, who will speak this weekend at all the Masses at Corpus Christ and St. Ladislas. He will speak at St. Mary on the following weekend. Please give Father a three-parish welcome!!!
This Sunday the Jubilee Museum will welcome Sister Wilma and the Senior Stars. A special relic holder has been prepared to hold Sister Wilma (not really!).
There are always new booths at the Festival. Please note there is an Adoration Booth at St. Mary this year. We are hoping to schedule several days of people offering an hour of weekly Adoration with Our Lord. Stop and see the booth -- it will be located near the back door of the rectory. See you there!
The Lord be with you!
Father Kevin F. Lutz
From the Cat at 684 South Third Street:
I was sitting in the kitchen and Father Lutz was telling a story about a 4 year old boy who was present at the burial of his grandmother. It seems that Father invited the young man to sprinkle the casket with holy water---Father did it first--- 1-2-3 (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). Now it was the 4 year old's turn to do as Father did---the child followed with 4-5-6-7-8-9-10 sprinkling holy water with each number stated. It brought lots of smiles and made the final farewell to his grandma have a special sweetness.
I am using my arthritis as an excuse not to get into the dunk tank this year. I do believe though that this year Father Lutz will gladly take the seat for $2,000--- $1,000 to St. Mary School and $1,000 to the Jubilee Museum. I might throw the pitch for an extra $50.

The universe unfolds in God, who fills it completely. Hence, there is a mystical meaning to be found in a leaf, in a mountain trail, in a dewdrop, in a poor persons face. The ideal is not only to pass from the exterior to the interior to discover the action of God in the soul, but also to discover God in all things from Caring for Creation
