Notes from the Pastor

In your charity, please pray for the souls of Dominic Capocciama whose funeral was celebrated at St. Joseph Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1st.  I was able to give him the Last Rites on May 20th.  Sister Wilma regularly visited him and brought him Holy Communion.

Funeral services for the sister of parishioner Nancy Auer, Florence Magoto of Greenville, OH and Dayton E. Brown, the father-in-law of Mrs. Jennifer Brown, our 3rd grade teacher were also held this past week.  May they rest in peace.

Please keep in your prayers, Helen Shott of St. Ladislas, who is presently in Riverside Hospital.

Congratulations to Nancy Ng Dung who is retiring after 43 years of dedicated teaching at St. Mary School.  I asked her former students to stand up at our Friday School Mass-- almost all the children stood up.  Then I asked the children of her former students to stand up --again a large number stood ---she had taught their parents.

Please pray for the safety of Mark Sterner, our 8th grade teacher.  He is in the Army Reserves and will be traveling to Poland to work for the army there for one month.  Also, pray for a safe trip for Sister Vianneya and Sister Paulina who are going to Poland to visit their families.

When you read this, Deacon Tim will have become Father Tim Lynch and offered several Masses and begun his life and calling as a priest.  Pray for vocations. What a blessing!  By then he will know his assignment which is still unknown

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin F. Lutz

From the Cat at 684 S. Third Street:

Father Tim looks great in his cassock.  How wise for priests to use my favorite color:  black with a little white trim.  The Pope of Cats is always robed in black fur.  Our current Cat Pope is Pope Kibble XXXIII, gloriously reigning.  While Pope Francis lives on Vatican Hill, Pope Kibble resides on Cataline Hill (sometimes erroneously spelled Capitoline Hill).  Enough history.  I'm tired.
