Notes from the Pastor

In your charity please pray for the following who have died: April Dunn (mother of fourth grader, Riley), whose funeral was Tuesday; Charles Sutphen (who served in the U.S. Air Force in Viet Nam), whose funeral was at St. Mary on Wednesday, Josι Antonio Huitron (who died in Mexico, his sister Edith Monroy works at St. Ladislas) his memorial Mass was at St. Ladislas on Thursday and Bonnie Hart whose funeral was at St. Ladislas on Friday.  Also please pray for Kevin Cameron, a former parishioner of Corpus Christi, whose funeral was Saturday at Corpus Christi and for Gladys Gonzalez whose funeral arrangements are pending. May they rest in peace.

Also please pray for Mother Angelica, foundress of EWTN who died on Easter Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. What an incredible lady.  She knew nothing about TV and radio and yet founded the largest religious broadcasting network ever.  I had the honor to meet Mother twice, once at the Josephinum when she was on the Board, and once after her stroke down in Alabama.  She wasn't too responsive as you might expect, until I said, "Mother, I'm a fellow Buckeye!"  and she perked up and squeezed my hand and smiled.  God rest her great soul.

Congratulations to our new converts to the Catholic Church.  It has been months of learning and searching for the truth and knowledge of God the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  It is our joy and honor to have you join our Catholic Family as active members of St. Mary.  We welcome you with open arms and promise to keep you in our prayers as you continue your journey of Faith.

Thanks to all who made the Holy Week Services so exceptional!  The decorating for the various days was done beautifully and in such a way as to enhance our understanding of the mysteries taking place.  The music was magnificent!  We are so blessed with such generosity of time and talent from our musicians and choirs. Our hearts and minds could not help but be lifted to the Lord in celebration of the Institution of the Holy Eucharist and the Sacrament of Holy Orders, the suffering and death of Our Lord and His glorious Resurrection.  God bless you all!

The Lord be with you!

Fr. Kevin F. Lutz

From the Cat at 684 South Third Street:

This is my best Easter ever.  Several cards, but the best one was from Fr. Droll who called me his hero!  If this is a forgery, let me never know it.  I have worked hard to inspire him and it seems I have.  I have always believed that hard work always pays off!

Rafael, exhausted but overjoyed!!
