Notes from the Pastor

The retreat is going well.  Lots of silence and lots of time for prayer.   I'm one of the oldest priests on this retreat.  It appears to be a great group of holy men.  All are very serious about their vocation.

The weather here doesn't allow for walks in the woods.  The pond is frozen over.  There's a few hardy souls that jog every day.  The rain and drizzle are pretty much all the time.  It does create a good for meditation.

You are in my daily prayers.  We have to help each other get to Heaven.  See you this weekend.

The Lord be with you!

Fr Kevin Lutz

From the cat at 684 South Third . . .

Father is off to pray and that means my workload doubles.  That includes sleep which is the primary work of a cat.  Saint Ann, the parish Secretary, attends to my sighing and singing and brings me treats twice a day.  What a friend.

Days are getting longer.  Spring is my favorite time.  I am mentally rehearsing my Spring leaps and bounds.  Right now gravity seems to be twice as strong during winter.  Climbing up on the sofa is a bit of a chore.  Need sunlight . . .

As Catholics, we believe in the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist. Pope Francis, like so many people before him, has a firm commitment to spending time in prayer before the Eucharist. This might seem odd or awkward if we’re not familiar with it. But if you give it a fair trial, you might discover some amazing graces that flow from this time-honored practice. -from Pope Francis and our Call to Joy
