Notes from the Pastor

A Happy and Blessed New Year to your all!!!

In your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of John William Barnett, 21, a former server of mine at Holy Family who served both the English and the Latin Mass.  John was in a fight in which he was stabbed two days before Christmas and died on the day after Christmas having received the Last Rites of the Church. Plans for his funeral are incomplete because this is a police matter.  His devoted parents are grateful for many who have reached out in prayer.  Also, please pray for Joseph Hohman, grandfather of Father Droll.  Mr. Hohman died on December 28th.  Funeral plans at this writing are incomplete.  Please keep Father Droll in your prayers.

Thanks to everyone whose sacrifices and talents made Christmas at St. Mary, St. Ladislas and Corpus Christi all very beautiful.  I also want to thank you for the many cards I have received and mixed reviews (because of the affects) for the cookies and cakes.

God bless all those who brought gifts to the poor by way of food, clothing, games and toys.  God will bless you at the judgement.

We are all a bit older -- God make us wiser and more holy.

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin Lutz

From the Cat at 684 S. Third Street:

Christmas was good.  The tree was off limits to me this year; it stands in royal splendor in Father Droll's office.  If he leaves his door open by accident, I will do my best to ascend its branches and ring its bells.

I'm especially grateful for my many treats, my favorite treats are called "Temptations".  I want to make it clear that these "Temptations" are not sins nor do they even lead to sins.  You, however, should assiduously avoid all temptations.

This definitely was my year for feeling my age.  I used to know when Father was home, by the sound of his car alarm, now he manages to stomp into the house and I barely detect a tremor.

My second book should be coming out soon.  As tired as I am right now, my third book may just be a pamphlet.

Happy New Year,

News Worthy Notes

Week 12 – Instead of air, my Mom’s womb is filled with a watery liquid, called amniotic fluid, which I can breathe in and out, which helps to strengthen my lungs. But I get oxygen through my umbilical cord, which is attached to me where my belly button will be!
