From the Pastor’s Desk….…

In your charity, please pray for the repose of the soul of Nancy (Creasap) Cleveland who was buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Her brother Michael was in my grade school class. PLease also remember Carolyn Adamschick who was buried from Holy Family last Tuesday.   May they rest in peace.

I'm writing this from a booth in Panera on Monday, July 27th.  I came here to take a little break and everyone is coming up to me or calling me on the phone.  Twenty minutes has lapsed since I wrote "I'm writing this from a booth in Panera."

Father Patrick from Nigeria enjoyed his time here and the people at St. Mary.  Thank you for welcoming him and for your generosity to him for the good work they do for those in need.

The garage is gone and there's more room to park.  Many of the wires overhead will be buried and the poles removed -- which will also assist in more parking availability along with a safer and more commodius playground.  (The cat made me use that word.)

I am traveling this week to Niagara Falls, and more specifically to Stella Niagara, where I was a teacher back in the 70's.  It will be nice to see some of my students. Rather frightening to contemplate that many are grandparents and in their late 50's.  Tempus fugit!

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin F. Lutz

From the Cat at 684 South Third Street:

I'm going to sign up for swimming lessons, because it seems the rain is not going to stop---so I'd better practice swimming ---repugnant as that thought is.

I'm totally geared up for the Parish Festival now that Precious Kitty Love-Love has moved out.  Now the window sill is mine--all mine!

The pastor is off to Niagara Falls this week ---- as if he hasn't had enough water here!   Like the pastor, I'm a big fan of the Three Stooges.  They had a routine about Niagara Falls.  "Slowly I turn, inch by inch, step by step."  That pretty much describes most of my days---- Slowly I turn. . .

I will be running my own booth at the festival.  You may squirt the pastor with a squirt gun for $100 a squirt --- 95% to school and 5% to The Emergency Catnip Fund.

Happy Festival,

Raphael

PS  Have found a great way to keep the mice away.  I eat cheese and then breathe into the mouse hole with . . . baited breath!

9:00 A.M. CHOIR UPDATE

Traditional Choir rehearsal begins Wednesday August 5th at 6:30 p.m. in the choir loft. Now is the time to take advantage of our “Try Before You Buy” plan. You may attend rehearsals through August without making a commitment to sing Sunday Mass. If, at the end of August, you decide it’s not for you, you are under no obligation. This is a good time to give it a try. We are looking at some new music and there are many practice aids to help learn the music. Reading music is not necessary, as we’ll teach you. All you need is a willingness to learn, and 1 ½ hours each Wednesday. For more information contact: Bill Antoniak at 614-580-0973

Father, we are all sinners. I am a sinner. I beg for the grace to never judge the actions of others, since it is possible that I might do the same things if I were in their situation. I ask this in Jesus's name, Amen.
