From the Pastor’s Desk….…

In your charity, please pray for Daniel Messmer whose funeral I offered this past Wednesday at Saint Ladislas.  May he rest in peace.

Here begins a new era -- we have an associate again.  It's been many years.  We have two churches:  Corpus Christi and St. Ladislas attached to St. Mary.  All will remain independent.  Pray for vocations!

Father Droll will preside at each of the weekend Masses this weekend. Take a moment and introduce yourself and welcome him to our Saint Mary family.

The Festival in our Sesquicentennial year is getting closer.  Jump in!  Volunteer!

Latin class, especially for grades 7 - 10, will be held all week at 10:30 to noon (children will be fed) in the Burkley Center in the Atrium.  Good refresher or good beginning.  No charge.  No uniforms. Venite!

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin Lutz

From the Cat at 684 S. Third . . .

Occasionally a dog reads my column (not a bad idea!) and then gets a notion to enter my poetry contest (not a good idea).  Well, Phideaux sent in a limmerick that was so awful, I shredded it and wrote a rebuke in his own style!!

There once was a dog named Phideaux

Who sat down to write a limmerick

He knew nothing of rhyme

And even less about meter

And his efforts came out something dreadful like this.

Dogs!  Only use your limited skills of barking and pursuing sticks.

There is a flood warning as I write this column.  See how nature convulses when dogs try to write.
