In your charity please pray for the soul of Joseph Ciminello who was buried from St. Paul's Church in Westerville this past Thursday. Also pray for Margaret Chapin, an alumna of St. Mary School.  May they rest in peace.

Say a little prayer.  I am flying to Boston after Mass to visit Pope John XXIII Seminary.  I am visiting two of our diocesan seminarians while there and traveling with a potential candidate.  I will return to the parish late Wednesday afternoon.

Congratulations Deacon MInner!!!  Ten years a deacon and generous is your service to St. Mary in countless ways.  Your legendary work with your wife preparing couples to be married is outstanding.  Likewise your care for the altar and your devotion to the Liturgy is done with great reverence.  God bless you with many more years and may all of us be blessed by your love of God.

I'm looking forward to this Gala very much.  I hope you are too.  It is not too late to register even now, so please consider signing up and having a great time over at Confluence Park.

Last week we had a very unexpected visit from Bishop Reiss, Auxiliary Bishop of Detroit.  He was driving back from Florida and stopped by to have dinner.  He greeted me with the following words "Father Lutz, I have just lifted the excommunication from you for failing to come and visit me in Florida."  Traveling with the Bishop was his little dog Kirby--a rescue dog.

Last Sunday I went to St. Peter's Church in Worthington to celebrate their 45th Anniversary.  They really began their celebration in a beautiful way--with a tribute to their ancestral parish.

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin F. Lutz

From the Cat at 684 S. Third Street...

This was a lousy week.  A dog dared to enter the rectory.  He was a combination schnauzer and poodle named Kirby (was he named after a vacuum cleaner?)  His tail was insane.  I did everything I could, not to give it a swat--its wagging was absolutely incessant!!  I have since patrolled the house to make sure the bishop didn't leave the dog behind.  All is well.

If we have been saved and sustained by a love so deep that death itself couldn’t destroy it, then that love will see us through whatever darkness we are experiencing in our lives.
