From the Pastor’s Desk….…

From the pastor's desk . . .

In your charity please pray for the following who have died: Barbara Jean Jordan, Janine Rowe of Marion (I gave her the Last Rites at Grant), Aria Courtney Gall, granddaughter of Tim and Sue Gall who passed away shortly after birth and baptism on Oct. 13th and Michael Kibbey whose memorial service was this past Friday. May they rest in peace. Please pray for their grieving families.

Congratulations to Saint Joseph Church in Plain City on the occasion of their sesquicentennial. They are celebrating a special Mass on Oct. 26th.  I spent six (6) years at that little country Church. Also on 10/26 please attend the Marian concert at Saint Leo.

I’ve mentioned in this column more than once that time is flying. Well, this week I turned around and it was Thursday afternoon so nothing has changed; before we know it the trees will be bare and we’ll be gathering for Thanksgiving. Please pray for me.

From the cat at 684 South Third Street . . .

Your pastor is an idiot.  Here's why:  I still say in touch with the cats over in the Bottoms, or as you call it, Franklinton.

Apparently the other day my friend Sully of Sullivant Avenue was in hot pursuit of a low flying dove. The bird could not fly more than a few feet and both the bird and Sully ended up in front of and under Father's car.  Father slammed on his brakes and the bird walked out and Sully resumed his pursuit until “St. Francis" chased him off; then tried to shoo the bird away.  Father chased the bird for half a block and then came back and chased Sully away.  Then he sat in his car for five minutes until Sully went off in other pursuits.  I'm sure the doves that read this are thrilled.  Sully is in therapy.  If I could get into the freezer I would at least eat a dove bar.

Feathers to Father!
