Rest in peace, good shepherd of a loyal flock!. St Mary laid to rest its fifth pastor, "Father Ralph" Huntzinger, last Tuesday in a funeral Mass offered by Bishop Campbell, assisted by Bishop Griffin, about 40 priests and about 20 permanent deacons. The music was joyful and Father Rodenfels preached a fitting sermon. (You can read it in the Catholic Times) or on line in the Times). A luncheon was served to all the guests. A special thank you to all who made every part of the funeral go so well. No detail was neglected and Father Ralph's family was most grateful. May he watch over and pray for the parish he loved so well. Remember him in your prayers as well.
In the early hours of August 6th, my niece Bridget gave birth to her third child, Gabriel Michael Hamilton, weighing in at 9 lbs. 12 oz. Egad! Blessing to the Bryan Hamilton family.
The big news is the festival, Homecoming # 88. In honor of the 88th, I will play the 88 (that is the piano on the lot, weather permitting, to raise money for the school. Last year the festival marked my first day here at St. Mary. What a fast year. It seems like the blink of an eye. See you there.
This week is the Feast of the Assumption of Mary into Heaven. The Vigil Mass will be at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, the 14th and 5:30 p.m. on the Feast - the 15th, Friday.
The Lord be with you!

There may be a reprieve. You might actually see us at the rectory windows for the festival. Such a huge event that the parish holds in our honor to express gratitude that we have deigned to abide here in the village. Oh, you blessed souls. As much as we, as cats, can thank you, we do. Now let the worship begin. We are ready for your adulations.
Reigning on high window sills,
