July!! There! I said it: the dreaded word July! How did it get here so quickly? My mind is still somewhere in May. The rest of me is further behind than that. Life seemed so slow as a child; now it's in hyper drive! The whole month seems to be a cook-out and a celebration of all that is good in our country. Enjoy it while it lasts.
July is devoted to the Most Precious Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Each month has a theme of sorts that is part of the spirituality of that time. There are few
topics that you could meditate on and have such a rich harvest. May the Blood of the Lamb cleanse us now and forever. How to honor the Blood of Christ? Consider an extra Mass during the week as the summer rolls on. Refresh yourself at the altar. See you in the front right row!
The Lord be with you!

I hope you all survived that annual early July event when sensible cats and even dogs seek shelter from endless loud booms and many flashes of light (but no rain!) and stay hidden under the furniture. I found suitable arrangements here at St. Mary's to save myself. I can only assume you are drawn out by the smell of the grill to risk being outside and looking at the sky.
A little fan mail came my way from my new friend Natalie. She writes:
Dear Raphael, How did you learn to read and write for the bulletin? I am in school and learning to read and write. I ask my mommy to write this so it was neat for you. Did you go to school? I enjoyed meeting you and your friend, Precious Kitty Love Love. I am sorry that I scared you. I hope we can visit again soon! Have a good day! Love Natalie PS Keep taking good care of Fr. Lutz
Dear Natalie, I learned to read and write by sitting near Father Lutz and watching him try to type. (I can do better and I have no thumbs!) I also went to the exclusive
A-Cat-emy of Caterature. My favorite teacher was Mr. Morris. My least favorite teacher was Mr. Phideaux. Well, Natalie, be good and learn to read and write very well. Your letter was very sweet. Keep that sweetness in your heart and you will always write well. Enjoy the summer!
