From the Pastor’s Desk….…

In your charity please pray for the souls of Sam Farb and Father Richard Pendolphi. A memorial service for Sam was held Thursday at Holy Family. Although he was not a member of St. Mary his widow, Rose, asked that St.  Mary be remembered in his obituary and that donations be made to help the school.

Father Pendolphi passed away suddenly last Friday. His funeral was held Friday morning at Saint Michael, where he was pastor prior to his assignment at Saint Agnes. He was a best friend of mine for 45 years and will be greatly missed. May they rest in peace.

Please pray for long time parishioner and volunteer extraordinaire, Frank Wickham. Frank was struck by a car Thursday afternoon while doing what he always does, serve others. He has a broken leg and is in Grant Hospital. Please pray for him.

The school year is almost over and we will soon be saying good-bye to our 8th graders. We wish them every success and will miss them. Please pray that as they leave St. Mary they will embrace God’s will for their lives. Congratulations and good job!!

I enjoyed my first Community reception this past Wednesday. What a terrific evening, great food and good friends. Thanks to all whose efforts made this happen.

Report on the BAA.  I don’t have the final numbers for this week yet but projections are that we have pledges totally $117,000.00 plus. Our debt is shrinking…….wonderful news!!  Keep in mind no gift is too small.

The Lord be with you!

We don’t have much to say this week. Father told us of the news of the passing of Father Pendolphi. We always knew he was a dog lover, but whenever he visited us he was always warm and kind. We knew in our hearts he was an animal lover, ever though he preferred dogs. What a beautiful world it would be if everyone embraced all of God’s creation.

We checked out the reception held on Father’s lawn this week; a few of you stopped by to visit, however, no one thought to bring us any of that delicious looking shrimp. Our mouths were left watering!!

A bit of good news, Father tells us we will be celebrating the ordination of P. J. Shelton on June 15th with his first Mass followed by a reception.

Always remember to give thanks for all of God’s blessings.

You are Precious!
When not accepted by others, even by yourself sometimes, He is the one who always accepts you. Only believe—you are precious to Him. Bring all your suffering to His feet—only open your heart to be loved by Him as you are. He will do the rest. —Mother Teresa of Calcutta
