From the Pastor’s Desk….…

Divine Mercy Sunday was a great blessing.  I heard confessions non-stop from 3:00 to 5:30.  God be praised.  The other priests there were absolving even longer.  If you did not notice, there are medals of the two newly-canonized popes available for the taking.  No charge.  Just pray.

By the time you read this our First Communion Class will have received their Divine Guest, Jesus Christ, in this Most Blessed Sacrament.  What could God hold back, if He gave us His Son?   Fall in love once again with Christ in Holy Communion.

This weekend is the Bishop's Annual Appeal.  Please see my separate letter and give an ear to my request for your help. There is an old debt hanging around here that goes back many years.  I didn't incur it, but I'm determined to make it go away.  The amount of the debt is $422,000.  Ouch!  I don't usually discuss my personal finances, but I am pledging $2,000 to the BAA to make this go away.  That's not said for a pat on the back.  I learned many years ago that debt is almost like slavery.  Look at the Hebrew Children in Egypt.  I want to see the entire parish go into the 150th year with no debt at all. Open your wallets and release the prisoners.

The Lord be with you!

Father Kevin Lutz

From the cat at 684 South Third . . .

Spring!  Sunshine!  Have you thanked God for these things?  I know that you wish you could wake up and also thank God for making you a cat, but you must not complain.  Just be a good human and keep His commandments.

Please help with the BAA.  I personally will not eat shrimp until it is paid off.  Even cats know how to sacrifice.

PS.  Thanks for the letters (three to five a week) and the treats!  You humans do such good things with your Free Will.
