From the Pastor’s Desk

Now is the winter of our discontent, our discomfort. The weather has really been brutal. For many the suffering is unbearable.  Pray for the poor and help the poor.  JOIN (a part of Catholic Charities) does a great deal from paying utilities to giving out warm clothes and arranging doctor appointments. As is our custom the entire Ash Wednesday collection will be donated to JOIN. Please be as generous as possible.

Next week is the women's conference.  There are less than a dozen women of the parish registered.  If you are interested, there are cancellations.  Call Ann and leave a message in the office.  I'll do my best to get you in.  Men's conference is the weekend after.  Same deal!

In addition to the brutal weather my schedule has been brutal the past week so this column is shorter than usual, however, please be assured I have stories and jokes to share with you in the coming weeks.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our Gala this weekend.

The Lord be with you

Father Kevin F. Lutz

From the cat at 684 South Third . . .

Enough with the snow already!  See how sympathetic I can be!  Actually, I don't really care.  As I wander through the house I am never far from a floor register.  Never mind that when I lay upon it the room temperature drops by 20 degrees.  I just reverse side every twenty minutes and I do just fine. Don't laugh at me.  I hear you people use tanning beds. Now that's ridiculous!

Don't forget the animals that wander outside.  There are many birds that could use a little extra help.  Morning is the best time for feeding!  See how kind a cat can be!

Like Father’s message this one is a little short on words not because of a brutal schedule though, just because it’s my nap time!!

ENJOY A LENTEN PILGRIMAGE

Last year during the Year of Faith a 500 year old Roman tradition came to Columbus, Ohio. Joshua Wagner, a priest of the Diocese of Columbus and experienced Roman Tour Guide, invites you to become a part of this Tradition as we visit and pray in some of the most beautiful Catholic Churches of the City of Columbus. Seats are EXTREMELY limited for this Pilgrimage, and this tour sold out in two weeks last year, so if you want to buy tickets go to www.SevenChurchTour.com
