From the Pastor's Desk
The first days of the new school year have been filled
with great enthusiasm. I look forward to working with our staff, students and
administration in the coming days and months.
I experienced my first Schultueten
presentation as we recognized our first graders on their first day of school. I
understand this has become a tradition here at Saint Mary and was pleasantly
surprised when I was presented with my own Schultueten as a first timer at this
I will be teaching a Latin Class of Enrichment to
the upper grades this year and look forward to teaching again. We will
celebrate our all school Mass each Friday at with Adoration following Mass on
each First Friday.
This Sunday, Aug. 25th, will be my fourth
Sunday as your new Pastor. Please be patient as I strive to remember everyone’s
name. Don’t hesitate to introduce yourself to me multiple times, if necessary;
rest assured I will come to know each one of you.
I had the pleasure of touring the Archive Room
located in the SpechtCenter and was extremely impressed with
the incredible display of Saint Mary historical memorabilia. As most of you
know, I have a deep love and respect for the past.
I sometimes tell people that the XIII century is my
mailing address. Most of the things we cherish began then; Magna Carta,
hospitals, universities, the development of the best in art, music,
architecture, literature and the like. Hard to top that list!!
Just a reminder we will end each Mass, daily and
weekend, by praying the Lord’s Prayer, a Hail Mary, the Glory Be and the Pray
to the Archangel Saint Michael that goes accordingly:
Saint Michael the Archangel, Defend us in battle, Be
our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke
him, we humbly pray. And do you, O Prince of the heavenly hosts, by the power
of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world,
seeking the ruin of souls.Amen
Please pray for me.
The Lord be with you!Fr. Kevin F. Lutz
