2013-2014 BAA UPDATE

Our pledges and gifts to date have resulted in meeting 50% of our goal for the 2013-14 Bishop’s Annual Appeal.  Our parish goal is $52,860.00. Please keep in mind that every dollar over our goal returns to Saint Mary. If you have not made a pledge to date please prayerfully consider your contribution to this year’s campaign. The Diocesan Senior Citizens Day Celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at St. Margaret of Cortona Church, 1600 N. Hague Ave. Bishop Frederick F. Campbell will celebrate Mass at 10:30 a.m. Mass will be followed by a luncheon. Registration for the celebration is $10. THE 2ND ANNUAL RECEPTION FOR FRIENDS of SAINT MARY….Please plan on joining your parish family, our German Village neighbors and friends of Saint Mary this Wednesday, May 29th from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on the Rectory lawn to celebrate the history and uniqueness of this Parish and School.


BIBLE STUDY….will cancel their meetings for the next two weekends so as not to conflict with the Spring Reception on May 29th followed by 8th grade graduation on June 5th. Regular meetings will resume on June 12th at 6:00 p.m. in the Specht Center.



The Parish office will be closed on Monday, May 27th in honor of Memorial Day. Let us all take a moment to remember those that have assured our freedoms with their service and sacrifice.

Seniors are invited to join us for the 12th annual Franklin County Office on Aging Day with the Columbus Clippers, Wednesday, June 5th.  Enjoy a day filled with fun, entertainment and our home team. Gates open at 11:15 a.m. and game time is 12:05 p.m. as the Columbus Clippers host the Toledo Mud Hens. Fans aged 60 and over attending the event will be treated to reduced ticket prices of just $5.00 for reserved seats and $2.00 for general admission, a boxed lunch and special door prizes. Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Tickets may be obtained by calling (614) 462-5250.  Transportation is available for groups of 10 or more.



    In response to the rash of tornadic activity in central Oklahoma over the past few days, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is helping those affected. Catholic Charities’ Disaster Recovery Services is providing for immediate and long-term needs during the recovery process.  Services include: emergency assistance funds for food, shelter, clothing and other necessities; financial assistance vouchers; networking with other agencies serving those affected; and, counseling services.

    In an effort to help with the long-term recovery process, Catholic Charities OKC has set-up a disaster relief fund. All donations made to this fund will support recovery for victims no donations will be diverted for other purposes or administrative costs.
