2012-2013 RCIA

The session this week will focus on “Apologetics and Evangelization”.  The presenters are Mike and Maureen Keebaugh.  All are welcome to attend any and all sessions.

 

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MEETING

St. Mary will host youth and young adults from throughout the Diocese on Thurs. April 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium. Our young adults in grades 9-12 are invited to join this dynamic group.

 

10 WEEK CATHOLICISM SERIES

The 4th session of the series on Catholicism will focus on Mary, the Mother of God. This series is sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and sessions are held each Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium; they typically last about one (1) hour. Each presentation is focused on a unique topic which does not require your attendance at every session. We will highlight the subject matter each week in the bulletin.

 

ST VINCENT DE PAUL COLLECTION

Our 5th Sunday collection to support St. Vincent de Paul was postponed from last weekend to this weekend. Please use your preprinted envelopes or mark you contribution according. REGISTRATION FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2013-14

Saint Mary School: Registration is now open for the 2013-14 school year for preschool, full-day kindergarten; grades K-8. St. Mary will accept Ed Choice Scholarships. THEOLOGY AFTER AUSCHWITZ

The Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus welcomes the general public to its 9th annual lecture on World Religions and Interreligious Dialogue. German theologian Dr. Gunda Werner-Burggraf of Ruhr-University Bochum will present “Theology after Auschwitz: Abrahamic Perspectives” on Wed., Apr.17th at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center at the Pontifical College Josephinum. The lecture is free and open to the public; reservations not required. The diocesan Respect Life Conference will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at St. Andrew Church, 1899 McCoy Rd. Featured speaker is Deacon James Keating, Ph.D. of Creighton University. Mass begins at 9:00 a.m. The conference is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is $15 which includes lunch. CATHOLIC YOUTH SUMMER CAMP

Join us for 6 days and 5 nights of High Adventure Activities and High Adventure Faith. Catholic Youth Summer Camp (CYSC) is a high adventure summer camp featuring activities such as paintball, jet skis, water tubing, rock climbing, high ropes, zorbing, zip-lining & more. We also teach the Catholic faith in a dynamic and engaging way through catechesis, dramas, sacred art, praise and worship, daily mass, confession, adoration and faith sharing groups that helps to foster a high adventure life of discipleship. Choose from one of our five (5) middle school weeks for students entering Grades 6-8 or one of our two (2) high school weeks for students entering grades 9-12. TUTORS NEEDED for a unique one-to-one learning environment for adults seeking literacy and/or GED and immigrants seeking ESL instruction. STREET CLEANING SEASON IN THE VILLAGE

Street cleaning season is upon us. Beginning in April the City of Columbus will clean the streets of German Village. Parking will be strictly enforced between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Third Street will be cleaned on the west side the second Tuesday of every month and on the east side the second Wednesday of every month. Your car will be towed if you are parked in these restricted areas during the hours noted above. If your car is towed, call 614.645.6400. April street cleaning days are April 10th on the west side and April 11th on the east side. 

 

SPECIAL COLLECTION WEEKEND

Next weekend has been designated by our Diocese as a special collection weekend for the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. This collection supports Catholic organizations that help deliver pastoral care and build places where the people of this region can worship in the light of Christ. Please use your pre-printed envelope or mark you contribution accordingly.
