REGISTRATION FOR SCHOOL YEAR 2013-14

Saint Mary School: Registration is now open for the 2013-14 school year for preschool, full-day kindergarten; grades K-8. St. Mary will accept Ed Choice Scholarships. Our goal is to enroll 250 students for the 2013-14 school year.

2012-2013 RCIA

The session this week will focus on “The Easter Vigil Experience and Stewardship”.  The presenters are Mike and Maureen Keebaugh. These discussions can enrich your knowledge of our Catholic teachings and faith. All are welcome to attend any and all sessions.

 

YOUNG AT HEART

The ladies of the Young at Heart group will make their annual spring trip to McArthur on Monday, May 6th. Items needed: clothing, imperishable food items, and house-hold products. For additional information please contact Betty at 444-8802.

It is that time of year already when we are thinking ahead to summer activities for our children. CATHOLIC MEN’S LUNCHEON CLUB

Dan DeMatte, Director of Religious Ed. & Youth Ministry at St. Patrick Church, will address the next Catholic Men’s Luncheon Club on “The Mission of the Domestic Church.”

Join us Friday, April 5th at St. Patrick Church, downtown Columbus. Holy Mass will be celebrated at 11:45 a.m., followed by lunch and our speaker until 1:00 p.m. No reservations necessary. $10.00 covers the lunch and meeting. Bring a friend!

REMINDERS

Ø  There is no bingo Easter Sunday evening and there will not be the regular coffee and doughnut hour between the Masses on Easter Sunday.

Ø  The weekly series on Catholicism will resume its’ regular weekly schedule on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium.

Ø  Bible Study will not meet this week but will resume weekly meetings each Wednesday evening at 6:00 p.m. in the Specht Center.

 

ST. VINCENT de PAUL 5TH SUNDAYCOLLECTION

The regularly scheduled 5th Sunday Saint Vincent de Paul collection has been rescheduled for the first weekend of the month, April 6-7, 2013.

This organization reaches out to meet the needs of those in our community who are struggling in these difficult economic times. Please be generous. Use your preprinted envelopes for your gift or note your contribution accordingly.

This is just a one-time change given that Easter fell on a 5th Sunday this year.

THEOLOGY AFTER AUSCHWITZ

The Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus welcomes the general public to its 9th annual lecture on World Religions and Interreligious Dialogue. German theologian Dr. Gunda Werner-Burggraf of Ruhr-University Bochum will present “Theology after Auschwitz: Abrahamic Perspectives” on Wednesday, April 17, at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center at the Pontifical College Josephinum. The lecture is free and open to the public; reservations not required. THEOLOGY ON TAP… is Thursday, April 11th.  It will be held at El Vaquero on 3230 Olentangy River Rd., from 7:00-9:00 p.m.  Our presenter is Sean Robinson on the topic:  "What does the Year of Faith mean for us as young adult Catholics?"  We've heard it spoken about, but how do we live it?  Come learn what you can do to set your heart on fire for the Year of Faith. J.O.I.N. BIBLIOBENEFIT

Come JOIN the Wagon Train!  J.O.I.N., the Joint Organization for Inner City Needs, invites you to an evening of friendship, delicious food and lively entertainment by diocesan clergy, on April 26 at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Andrew Parish Hall.  A Chinese Raffle will award a variety of prizes to lucky bidders and the “Trading Post” will be filled with unique items for sale.  Cost is $50 per person.  Reservations are required by April 19 and can be made by calling Alice Heller, 614-846-4523 or JOIN, 614-241-2530. 

 

STEWARDSHIP

If you have not already submitted your completed offertory pledge form and the time/talent form please take a moment to fill out these forms and return them to the parish office or drop them into the collection basket. To date only 9% of our registered parishioners have responded. The finance committee would like to thank those families/individuals that have completed and returned their forms.

PRAYER FOR CANDIDATES AND CATECHUMENS

Hail Mary, full of Grace, please Pray to the Lord our God for all of the candidates and catechumens that have been received into the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
