LEGENDS ABOUT ST. PATRICK…abound and details of his life are uncertain, but history agrees that he was humble and courageous in winning most of Ireland for Christ. This prayer that is attributed to him can be a wonderful blessing for each family member:

Christ shield me this day: Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I arise, Christ in the heart of every person who thinks of me, Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me.

LITANY OF ST. JOSEPH

In commemoration of his Feast Day on March 19:

Joseph, model of husbands, Faithful in times of uncertainty and strong in adversity, Pray for us.

Joseph, model for fathers, Firm in teaching and patient in mentoring Jesus, Pray for us.

Joseph, patron of workers, dedicated to using your gifts and praising God in the work of your hands, Pray for us.

Joseph, patron of a happy death, entering eternity in the presence of Jesus and the arms of Mary, Pray for us.

Joseph, man of prayer, familiar with the scriptures and trusting in God’s plan for us, Pray for us.

Joseph, humble servant of God, dedicated to the care of your home and family, Pray for us.

Loving God, thank you for the life and powerful intercession of your servant, Joseph. May we who reap the benefits of his love for Jesus and Mary imitate the steadfast love for home and family. May his example bring us ever closer to Jesus, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever. Amen.
