2012-2013 RCIA

The topic of this week’s RCIA session is “Heaven, Hell and Purgatory”. The presenter is Louis Senn, seminarian at Josephinum. These discussions can enrich your knowledge of our Catholic teachings and faith. All are welcome to attend any and all sessions.

 

STATIONS @ ST. LEO….are scheduled for Thursday throughout Lent at 3:00 p.m. The dates are: Mar. 14, and Mar. 21.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

Ø  Stations of the Cross will rotate again this year between Corpus Christi, St. Ladislas and St. Mary. The schedule is as follows: March 15 @ St. Mary and March 22 @St. Ladislas. Stations will be prayed each Friday throughout Lent at 7:00 p.m.

Ø  4-S Club: All you can eat Fish Dinner from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. every Friday throughout Lent. $11.00 per person.

 

CONFIRMATION: Please pray for our young people that will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this weekend.

 

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULT MEETING

St. Mary will host youth and young adults from throughout the Diocese on Thurs. March 14th at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium. PRESENTATION ON SAINT AUGUSTINE’S CONFESSIONS

The Pontifical College Josephinum’s Priests, Poets and Philosophers series continues Friday, March 15, as Herbert E. Hartmann, PhD, presents “An Interpretation of Saint Augustine’s Confessions” at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center on the Josephinum campus. 10 WEEK CATHOLICISM SERIES

The Knights of Columbus will be hosting a 10 part DVD series on Catholicism beginning Tuesday, March 12th at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium. Please plan on joining us as we journey with acclaimed author, speaker and theologian Fr. Robert Barron as he explores the beauty, goodness and truth of the Catholic Faith in a rich multimedia experience. Be illuminated by the spiritual and artistic treasures of this global culture that totals more than one billion people, traveling through more than 50 locations in 15 different countries.

 

NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

SAINT JOSEPH CATHEDRAL PILGRIMAGE….to view the Dead Sea Scrolls: Sunday, April 7th a bus will leave the Cathedral parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and will return by 6:00 p.m.  The trip will include Mass at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati, OH, a buffet lunch, and time at the exhibit. Cost:  $80 for adults and $70 for children (12 and under)-- includes the bus, lunch, and museum fee.  Registration and payment must be received by March 22. For more information and to print a registration form, see the Cathedral website:  www.saintjosephcathedral.org.

 

MARCH 29 – GOOD FRIDAY – WALKING

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

The many facets of faith and justice will be the focus of the annual Walking Stations of the Cross. The walk begins with the opening prayer at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 E. Broad Street, at

8:00 a.m., Friday, March 29, 2013. Participants will stop at locations in downtown Columbus to recognize Jesus Christ’s suffering and crucifixion as well as reflect on a current area of social concern. COLUMBUS THEOLOGY ON TAP…..winter’s session will be on Thurs., March 14th at El Vaquero, 2030 Olentangy River Rd., from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m.  We will be presenting a panel of speakers on the topic of Faithful Journeys: Personal Journeys with Catholicism. Our panelists will share their witness and stories of their life's journey with their Catholic faith. Featuring a Cradle Catholic, a Catholic who left the church and came back, a convert to Catholicism and an RCIA representative from St. Brendan's in Hilliard. SPRING MUSICAL @ SAINT MARY SCHOOL

St. Mary Music Department invites you to Godspell Jr., featuring performances by our 5th-6th graders on Friday, March 22nd and Saturday, March 23rd at 7:30 p.m.

Admission:  Adults, $5.00; students, $3.00.  Join us for a wonderful musical performance that is perfect way to begin Holy Week. Concessions will be available.

 

BLESSING OF THE FOOD

The Polish Community will continue the tradition of Blessing the Food on Holy Saturday, March 30th at 1:00 p.m. here. Celebrating this ceremony will be Father Eugene Linowski.  An invitation has been extended to all St. Mary parishioners to join in this event.
