NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

2013 GALA

To all of you who attended or otherwise contributed to this year's Saint Mary Gala & Auction, a BIG thank you is in order! Thanks to your generous participation and support, we raised over $35,000 for the school -- our largest total ever. With close to 275 guests, we also had our best attended event. By all accounts, it was a great success! We owe it all to you -- the families, sponsors and donors that give so much to Saint Mary School and Parish. We truly appreciate your generosity, both of pocket and of spirit.
For this year's fund-a-need, we succeeded in raising funds for 11 iPads for the school, putting us more than halfway toward our goal of 20 iPads.

We extend are gratitude to the Saint Mary Gala and Auction Committee for their tireless efforts in making this year’s Gala a huge success.

IMPORTANT PARISH AND SCHOOL NEWS

·    As we continue to provide a quality affordable Catholic Education for our families, we would like to increase our enrollment in Grades K-8.  Currently we are at 188 students and we have set a goal of 250 students by March 22, 2013.  We would like to enlist your help in achieving this goal.

·    Our current student body consists of children whose families reside in 28 different zip codes, while the majority of students are from zip codes 43205, 43206, and 43207.

·    If you or anyone you know lives or works in the downtown area or in any of these zip codes, Saint Mary School is a wonderful option for an excellent Catholic education. We not only provide a quality Catholic education to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th grade, we also provide before school care beginning at 7:00 a.m. and after school care until 6:00 p.m. Moreover, we have an excellent preschool providing care from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to children ages 3 through 5.

·    Enrollment information can be found on our school website at www.stmaryschoolgv.com or by calling the school office at 614-444-8994.

STEWARDSHIP PLEDGE FORMS AND LETTERS OF INTENT TO RETURN

·    Note! It is important that all parish families who have children attending our parish school or one of the diocesan Catholic high schools return their completed Stewardship Pledge form to the parish office no later than March 8, 2013 if you wish to obtain a Saint Mary grant/subsidy for the 2013-14 school year. If you have misplaced your form you will find copies at the rear of the Church.

·    According to diocesan policy you must be an active, contributing and participating member of the parish in order to receive a parish grant/subsidy.

A PRAYER FOR POPE BENEDICT XVI

Almighty God and Father,
Who have revealed Yourself through Your Eternal Word,
and have blessed Your Church with Pope Benedict XVI,
our teacher in both faith and reason; receive our prayers of thanksgiving for his witness to the beauty of truth, for his example of hopefulness, for his humble service of Christ's Bride.
As he blessed our apostolate in his care for the Church's teaching office, so now may he receive the benefit of our prayers.
Grant him, in his time of retirement, the reward of study and prayer as he continues to seek, find, and love you in truth.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
