HOLY FAMILY SOUP KITCHEN…. is in need of volunteers who can help set up & serve meals to the homeless Monday thru Friday.  Hours are flexible: anytime between 7:00 a.m. to 12:30.  Meals are served at 10:30 a.m., cafeteria style.  Cleanup continues until 12:30. HOLIDAY CONCERT TO BENEFIT CORPUS CHRISTI CENTER OF PEACE…….featuring “J Plays H” - an ensemble featuring harp and French horn - along with Tenor Mark Ballard and Mezzo Soprano Sarah Rhorer, on Sunday, December 9, at 6:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church. This concert is sponsored by Edgewood Acres Civic Association to benefit the work of Corpus Christi Center of Peace.

Ø  The annual Maennerchor/St. Mary bell choir concert will be held here on Sunday, Dec. 2nd at 4:00 p.m. This event will precede German Village Lights which begins at 6:00 p.m. Our 8th graders will be selling hot chocolate and cookies during this event. Please stop by and support this effort.

Ø  Chili and Carols will be held in the gymnasium on Dec. 7th from 5:00 -8:00 p.m.

Ø  Dec. 8th, The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is a Holy day of obligation; Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Ø  Advent Penance Service is scheduled for Dec. 16th at 2:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi.

Ø  Christmas Eve, 4:00 p.m.; 7:00 p.m. and Midnight (note this is a slight change from previous years)

The Pontifical College Josephinum’s 2012-13 Priests, Poets, and Philosophers series continues Thursday, December 6, as Mr. Christopher Hallada, a seminarian from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe, presents “The Way to Christian Philosophy: Explorations of Faith and Reason in Pavel Florensky, Edith Stein, and Jean Luc Marion at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center on the Josephinum campus. ST. MARY HOME AND SCHOOL … has partnered with Franklin Art Glass to make an ornament this year.  This ornament is etched glass with a picture of the Church on it. The ornament is approximately 3 ¾ x 2 ½ inches. The cost is $15.00. Come and get one of the limited supply ornaments on Dec. 7th as you enjoy a hot bowl of chili and carols. We have purchased only 300 so be sure to stop by the school gym any time after 5:00 p.m. to get your ornament. The ornaments are on a  first come first serve basis. There will be no orders taken for ornaments.


“EMMANUEL – The Story of Christmas” will be presented by Tajci on Thursday, Dec 6th at 7:00 p.m., at St. Patrick Church, 280 N Grant Ave.  Tatiana Cameron – Tajci, in collaboration with Los Angeles based producer Denny Bouchard, adopted and arranged a wide array of musical styles, traditions and ethnic origins into a mesmerizing musical piece.  This concert event is a true celebration of Christmas with laughter, joy, sorrow, hope, tears, family, and faith. The concert will be free for all those who attend.  A good will donation basket will be passed.
