ADOPT A FAMILY 2012

In 2011, our Adopt a Family Outreach Program assisted 22 families because of your generous donations/contributions. Your charity and generosity have made this special ministry a success year in and year out. Pam and I would like to thank everyone for their support for this program.

We are in the process of kicking off the 2012 campaign and are seeking volunteers to help with the many tasks associated with this program. Please contact Pam Schaal at delaware0808@gmail.com  or Jennifer Groves at jengroves1@yahoo.com  if interested. You may also call the parish office at 445-9668 if email is not an option for you.

We ask for your help and prayers as we once again begin the 2012 Adopt a Family program.

SOUTHSIDE COMMUNITY MINISTRIES ANNUAL APPEAL

St. Mary Church continues to support the operation of the Southside Community Ministries Food Pantry by staffing the pantry from 1:00-2:30 p.m. on the last Saturday of every month.  We currently have nine volunteers who do a fantastic job.  These volunteers will be in the back of Church after each Mass next weekend, November 3rd and 4th to gratefully receive your donations to help provide food for our neighbors in need.

If it is more convenient, please visit the website below which will give you the option of donating on-line.  All monetary donations will be used to pay for the cost of food ordered from the Mid-Ohio Food Bank.

 BANNS of MARRIAGE

IN REMEMBRACE OF:

Throughout the month of November we remember the saints and our deceased family members and friends. As you seek to live out your own call to holiness, the Diocesan Marriage and Family Life Office encourages you to look for inspiration and strength in reflecting on the lives of those powerful men and women of faith who lived Gospel lives.

The life of holiness… constitutes the simplest and most attractive way to perceive at once the beauty of truth, the liberating force of God’s love, and the value of unconditional fidelity to all the demands of the Lord’s law, even in the most difficult situations. For this reason, the Church … has always invited believers to seek and to find in the saints … the model, the strength, and the joy needed to live a life in accordance with God’s commandments and the Beatitudes of the Gospel.”  Pope John Paul II, Veritatis Splendor, No. 107.2

GUARDIAN ANGEL FUND

Included in your bulletin this week end is a copy of the first Saint Mary School Quarterly Newsletter and an envelope for donating to The Saint Mary Elementary School Tuition Assistance Program.  All contributions to The Saint Mary Elementary School Guardian Angel Fund will provide tuition assistance to those families who are in need and assist the parish in meeting the operating expenses of the school.

A donation of $ 1,600 or $ 160/month for ten months will cover the funding gap for one student. Any and all donations will be appreciated. More detailed information regarding tuition assistance and the funding gap can be found by visiting the Saint Mary Parish Web site (www.stmarygv.com)
