2012-2013 RCIA

The topic of this week’s RCIA session is “The Trinity”. The presenter will be Deacon Michael Ross. If you know anyone that is interested in learning about the Catholic faith; has been away from the church; has not been confirmed; or if you would like to be a sponsor for someone this year, then the Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is for you. All are welcome. FOR LIFE

The Greater Columbus community will be uniting with hundreds of cities from all 50 states in the 40 Days for Life campaign. Faithful believers are praying that this effort will mark the beginning of the end of abortion in America. This peaceful prayer vigil will take place at an abortion facility in Columbus between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Participants are asked to volunteer for one-hour shifts

and sign a statement of peace. For more information,

October is Respect Life Month

October is Respect Life Month and Sunday, October 7, 2012, is Respect Life Sunday. "Faith opens our eyes to human life in all its grandeur and beauty” is the theme of the 2012-2013 Respect Life Program. Celebrate the gift of life in all its stages. ST. MARY SCHOOL NEWS

·     St. Mary Library is looking to collect old NECKTIES for a project with Middle School students.  If there are old, ugly, unworn, outdated ties lurking in your closest, we'd love to have them!  Please drop off ties to the school or parish office before October 5th.  Many thanks!

MARKET DAY SAMPLES AND INFO

The coordinator for Market Day Products here at St. Mary is Robin Hungerford. Robin will have a table set up on the front lawn of the Rectory on Sunday, Sept. 30th following both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Masses to share information and samples of these products. Flyers are available at the rear of the Church with a list of these products.  In the event of rain Robin will set up in the school gymnasium.

MARIAN CONCERT AT SAINT LEO - SUN. OCT. 21ST @ 6:30 p.m.

St. Leo Church will once again host several choirs who will sing a variety of traditional, contemporary and ethnic songs to honor Mary, Our Blessed Mother.  This array of music, while all Marian based, will feature many different instruments and songs familiar and new to us.  What better way to promote devotion to Mary and bring together various parishes and ethnic groups!  Bring your family and friends and enjoy this lovely evening!

This evening of song will be accompanied by meditations given by Dominican Brother Reginald Mary, OP – transitional deacon in residence at St. Patrick’s

All donations made this evening will be split with The Stained Glass Window Project and The Saint Leo Parish Memorial Seminarian Assistance Endowment Fund.

 

CATHOLIC MEN’S LUNCHEON CLUB

The Most Reverend Frederick F. Campbell, Bishop of Columbus, will address the Catholic Men’s Luncheon Club on issues important to Catholic men seeking greater faith formation. His talk will inspire you to live out your vocation as a son, father, husband, worker, disciple or minister. Join us Friday, October 5, 2012 at St. Patrick Church, 280 North Grant Avenue. Mass will be celebrated at 11:45 a.m., followed by Lunch and Speaker until 1:00 p.m.  No reservation needed. $10 covers the lunch and meeting. And bring a couple of friends!
