2012-2013 RCIA INTRODUCTORY COOK OUT…… is set for Wednesday, August 29th @ 6:30 p.m. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) will kick off the year in front of the Specht Center or in the Atrium if it rains.  If you are interested in joining the Catholic Church, are interested in serving as a sponsor, or are just interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith we hope you will join us.  All are welcome.  For more information please contact RCIA Directors Mike or Maureen Keebaugh. Both the 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. choirs will resume weekly practice sessions beginning the first week of September.

Catholic Social Services’ 20th annual Breakfast with the Bishop will be held on Friday, October 5, 2012, from 7:45 – 9:15 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom, 350 North High Street. Bishop Campbell will share his thoughts on religion in today’s society.   Joining the Bishop will be Paul Pfeifer, senior associate justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio, who will share some reflections on this topic from a judicial perspective.

We encourage all parishioners to join the Bishop for breakfast and learn more about the impact you are helping Catholic Social Services make on our communities.

The 4-S Club invites you to participate in our 2012 annual golf outing to support the only Catholic school on the south side of Columbus. This event is slated for September 16, 2012 at Foxfire Golf Club. Flyers with detailed information can be found at the rear of the Church.

Saturday, September 8:

7:15 p.m. - Schiller statue illumination ceremony.  The free program includes a concert by the Harmony Project community chorus, a reading of "The Ode to Joy" by Director of Actors' Theatre John Kuhn, lighting of the statue, and the playing of the final movement from Beethoven's 9th Symphony over a glockenspiel installed in the St. Mary's Church bell tower for this week-end.

Sunday, September 9:

Noon-1:30 p.m. - Bring a picnic or buy from food trucks. 

1:30 -3:15 p.m. - Experience living history vignettes on a variety of topics related to Schiller Park's history. 

3:30 p.m. - Enter the pie-baking contest and scavenger hunt.

4:15 p.m. - Join the "family photo" around the Schiller statue. 

4:30 - Dessert for the day is an ice cream social (with Jeni’s ice cream).  Everything on Sunday is free.

SCHOOL YEAR 2012-2013

A new school year begins for our families on Monday, August 27th.  As is our custom we will kick off the year with the presentation of a Schultute to our first graders. This program begins at 1:00 p.m. and all are welcome to join the staff and our invited guest to celebrate this special occasion.

We will celebrate our first all school Mass of the new year on Wednesday, Aug. 29th at 8:20 a.m.

Please keep our students, staff and administration in your prayers as we begin the daunting task of educating and guiding our most precious resource, our children.

St. Timothy Church and St. Timothy Knights of Columbus Council 14345 will host the 2012 Blue Mass on Friday, September 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m.  The Blue Mass is an opportunity to honor and pray for all active, retired and deceased police, firefighters, and emergency medical services. In addition, it is an occasion to remember the 2,973 who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The Blue Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Frederick F Campbell, DD, PhD at St. Timothy Church, 1088 Thomas Lane.  Concelebrants will be Fr. Timothy M. Hayes, Pastor, Msgr. David V. Sorohan, MA, STL, PhD, former chaplain to the Columbus Division of Police and Fire, Fr. Leo L. Connolly, M Div. Chaplain to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and others. Bishop Frederick F. Campbell, DD, PhD will be the homilist.
