SUMMER MASS SCHEDULE

Effective immediately, we will suspend the Wednesday 8:20 a.m. Mass. Father’s schedule over the summer on Wednesday will be devoted to Catholic Youth Summer Camp, retreats, pilgrimages, and family time.

Mass is offered at several of our neighborhood Parishes for those that wish to attend.

The Wednesday Mass will resume at the same time on August 15th, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  

 

DIOCESAN COLLECTION

Next weekend our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and natural disaster.  Please use your pre-printed envelopes or mark your donation accordingly.

4-S CLUB MANAGER

The 4-S Club is seeking a club manager. Minimum requirements for this position are 3-5 years management and bartending experience. All final candidates will be expected to submit to drug testing and a background check. A CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

Due to the significant number of maintenance issues the parish is facing regarding the church and other historical parish buildings this coming fiscal year, we will be establishing a grant writing committee to seek funding to cover some of the costs the parish will incur. MASS OF THANKSGIVING

The Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs (J.O.I.N.) annual Mass of Thanksgiving for Friends and Benefactors will be held Wednesday, June 20, at 5:15 p.m., at St. Joseph Cathedral, 212 East Broad Street.  An awards reception will follow in the Cathedral’s undercroft, recognizing individuals for their support of J.O.I.N.’s ministry, which provides material needs for low-income families in Franklin County, functioning under Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Columbus.  J.O.I.N. friends and supporters of are invited to the Mass and reception; to RSVP or for more information, please contact J.O.I.N.’s offices at 614-241-2530.

We are now accepting applications for the 2012-2013 Diocesan Youth Council. If you know of any deserving youth who may be interested in serving on the council, please nominate them. GERMAN VILLAGE HAUS and GARTEN 2012

Next weekend, June 24th, the annual German Village Haus and Garten tour will take place in our neighborhood from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our neighborhood is expecting an influx of approximately 6000 guests that will tour the homes on this year’s tour. St. Mary Rectory and Church is part of the tour this year, opened to the public from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Keep in mind parking will be at a premium for our Sunday Masses and in addition pedestrian traffic will also be extremely heavy all day Sunday.

 

2012 HOMECOMING FESTIVAL

2012 SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS

v Bishop Hartley:

Youth Football Camp, June 26, 27, 28 from 9 a.m. to noon at Jack Ryan Field on the campus of Bishop Hartley High School.  Cost is $60.00 and is open to all students entering grades 2-8.

Cheerleading Camp: Learn the basics of cheering – motions, jumps, & school spirit. Work with coaches and current cheerleaders to learn chants & cheers! BISHOP’S 2012 ANNUAL APPEAL CAMPAIGN UPDATE – 6TH WEEK

One hundred and seventy one (20%) of Saint Mary Parish families have currently pledged $ 67,892.00 towards our Parish goal of $ 150,000.00. Of the funds pledged to date $13,126.00 or 19% will be returned to the Parish and used toward the many projects required to maintain our historical buildings. We are now receiving costs estimates from contractors; this information will be included on the posters in the back of the church.
