We have met and exceeded our goal of $53,597.00 for the 2012-13 Bishop’s Annual Appeal. As a parish we have pledged $60,457.00 to date. As Father mentioned when we kicked off this campaign all money donated by the parish beyond our BAA goal will be returned to the parish and used to perform necessary repairs of the many parish buildings, including windows for the Church and Specht Center, the Church roof, doors, the front steps and the sidewalk on 3rd Street. If you have not given to date please prayerfully consider making a donation, no donation is too small. Thank you to all those parishioners who have contributed.

Tuesday, June 5th at 7:00p.m.the Knights of Columbus Council 5429 will show the movie, A Voice for Life, The Melissa Ohden Story. Melissa is the survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977. Fulfilling the purpose that she believes God set out for her when He saved her from the certain death of the abortion attempt, Melissa is truly a voice for the voiceless. Pro-Life advocates who appear in this film include Melissa Ohden, Fr. Frank Pavone, John C. Wilke, MD, Alveda C. King, Fr. Jonathan Morris, Dr. Theresa Burke and Michael Clancy.
Melissa is also the keynote speaker for the 2012 Greater Columbus Right to Life Spiritus Banquet to be held at Villa Milano August 19th. Council 5429 purchased a table for 10 at the banquet and will donate those 10 dinners by holding a raffle for all those who attend the movie presentation on the 5th. A panel of local pro-life advocacy groups will be available after the movie for Q&A. Refreshments will also be served. Please join us in the Atrium on June 5th.
The parish office will be closed on Monday, May 30th in celebration of Memorial Day. Let us all take a moment to remember the cost we have paid as a nation for our freedoms, lifting up in prayer those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those who serve us around the world in these times.
Next Friday, June 1st will not only be a First Friday, but will also be the last all school Mass of the 2011-12 school year. Eucharistic Adoration and Benediction will follow the Mass with our student body. All are welcome.
