2011-12 RCIA  

The RCIA team will celebrate the completion of the 2011-12 year with a cook out at 7:00 p.m. on Wed. April 25th. The newly baptized will receive their first reconciliation that same evening. Let us all continue to keep the newest members of The Catholic Church in our prayers.

 

BIBLE STUDY – LOCATION CHANGE

The Bible study group will meet in the Atrium on Wednesday, April 25th only, they will return to the Specht Center the following week.

 

NEEDED - BABY FOOD JARS

We are in need of small baby food jars for use at baptisms. If you have a new baby or know of someone that does please save your jars and ask them to do the same. You can drop them off at the parish office or leave them at the rear of church when you come to Mass.  Thank you.

 

5TH SUNDAY LITURGICAL MINISTERS NEEDED

Next Sunday, April 29th is a 5th Sunday. There is a signup sheet for liturgical ministers posted on the bulletin board at the back of Church. We do not have a regular rotation for 5th Sundays; therefore, please sign up to serve as one of the following: altar server, Eucharistic minister, or lector. Y

 

ST. VINCENT de PAUL 5TH SUNDAY COLLECTION

Next Sunday, April 29th is a 5th Sunday and as always we ask for your donations to St. Vincent de Paul. This noble organization reaches out to meet the needs of those in our community who are struggling in these difficult economic times. Please be generous. STREET CLEANING SEASON IN THE VILLAGE

The City of Columbus street cleaning schedule from April thru October 2012: between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. there is no parking allowed on:

ü  City Park Avenue from Livingston to Stewart

ü  Third Street from Livingston to Reinhard

ü  Mohawk Street from Livingston to Reinhard

Streets will be cleaned on the west side the second Tuesday of every month and on the east side the second Wednesday of every month. Your car will be towed if you are parked in these restricted areas during the hours noted above. If your car is towed, call 614.645.6400.

 

APRIL JORDAN CONFERENCE

The quarterly Jordon Conference for parents who wish to have a child baptized will be held on Tues. April 24, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. in the atrium. Please contact the parish office at 445-9668 or email Ann at ann@stmarygv.com to confirm your attendance.

 

DOMINICAN SISTERS OF PEACE…invite single women ages 18 to 45 to a week-long service opportunity from May 14 – 20, 2012. Come and work with our Sisters and staff as we care for the land, life and spirit. Meals and housing are provided. NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

 

MAY CROWNING @ ST. MARY and ST. LEO

May Crowning ceremonies will be held at both St. Mary and St. Leo on Tuesday May 1st. The St. Mary ceremony will be 8:20 a.m. with our students in attendance.

 

The St. Leo ceremony will be held outdoor at 7:00 p.m.  Everyone is cordially invited.  Please bring a chair.

 

The YOUNG AT HEART ladies will be traveling to the St. Francis Mission in McArthur, OH on May 7th. Donations have been coming in slower than anticipated. Items needed include household products (cleaning supplies, bathroom tissue, toothpaste, etc.), gently used clothing and used furniture. This Center serves as a Catholic presence in the southeastern part of our diocese. Please contact Catherine at 614.443.6154 for additional information. You can leave your donations in the rear of the Church.

 

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE: An informational meeting at Christ the King Rectory on Sun. Apr. 29th at 2:00 p.m. regarding Father Sylvester Onyeachonam's pilgrimage to the Holy Land with departure from Columbus on Oct.19th; returning Oct.28th.  The trip includes visits to Bethlehem, Nazareth & Jerusalem plus many other sites pertaining to our wonderful Catholic Faith.  Round trip air fare, lodging, transportation, taxes & all breakfasts & dinners are included in the price of $3195.00. STEWARDSHIP SCRIPTURE-THIRD SUNDAY OF EASTER

The disciples on the road to Emmaus walked and talked with Jesus all day long, but it was not until they offered Him hospitality and He blessed and broke the bread that they recognized Him. Simple acts of loving kindness still reveal the presence of God in our midst in our day.
