2011-12 RCIA

The RCIA topic of discussion this week will be “The Lord’s Prayer and The Nicene Creed”.  The presenters will be Mike and Maureen Keebaugh. Please pray for all our Candidates and Catechumens as they journey ever closer to full Communion with the Holy Catholic Church. The RCIA Retreat and Day of Reflection will be Saturday, March 31st beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending with attendance at the 4:00 p.m. Mass.

 

WALKING STATIONS OF THE CROSS….will again be observed by our Youth and Young Adult Ministry and the Office of Social Concerns. The Walking Stations takes place Good Friday, April 6, 2012, beginning at St. Joseph's Cathedral at 8:00 a.m. We will be praying the Stations of the Cross while visiting various sites that remind us that sin and hurt are very present in our everyday lives.

 

SPAGHETTI DINNER

The Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians is sponsoring a spaghetti dinner at Tara Hall, 274 Innis from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday March 31st.  Adult dinners are $7.50; children under12 are $5.00 Come and join us for food, friendship and fun!  All are welcome."

IMPORTANT DATES DURING LENT

Ø       Stations of the Cross at St. Mary, St. Ladislas and Corpus Christi will be held at 7:00 p.m. every Friday evening throughout Lent. The schedule is as follows:

CATHOLIC YOUTH SUMMER CAMP

To apply for the $100.00 Service Scholarship toward the cost of attending Catholic Youth Summer Camp please contact Ann Anderson at the Parish office to make arrangements to fill out the service agreement, to be signed by both parent and student. To register for camp visit www.cysc.com ; when prompted during the registration process, enter the passcode, STMARY2012, to apply for the $100.00 scholarship.

 

SERVICE SATURDAY

Join with Catholic Social Service to help older and disabled Franklin County residents in need of help with small home repairs, painting, yard work, or special projects. For additional information contact Stephanie Jursek at 614.857.1216 or email to sjursek@colscss.org

Service Saturday will be held May 19, 2012.Please see the flyer on the bulletin board in the back of Church.

 

The 4-S CLUB….will have a fish fry each Friday of Lent beginning Feb. 24th. The hours are 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. or until they run out. Cost is $11.00 for all you can eat fish plus 2 sides. Carry out is available, call 443.0524.

ST. MARY SCHOOL FLOWER SALE

Spring is just around the corner and so is the St Mary Spring Flower Sale.  The St. Mary Teacher Parent League is holding our annual flower sale.  By ordering flowers through the PTL you are helping us support the students & School.  Flower orders will be accepted through Friday, April 6th; flower pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 11th from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  Father Franks has graciously offered his front yard as the pickup area.  You can find a flower catalog at the rear of the Church and your bulletin will have an order form. Orders and payments can be dropped off at the St. Mary School office. Thank you for your support.

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

Beginning Holy Thursday, April 5th, our Mass schedule will be as follows:

ü  April 5, 2012, HOLY THURSDAY: THE MASS OF THE LORD’S SUPPER at 7:00 p.m.

ü  April 6, 2012, GOOD FRIDAY: LITURGY of THE WORD, VENERATION of THE CROSS, and HOLY COMMUNION at

 3:00 p.m.

ü  April 7, 2012, EASTER VIGIL: SERVICE of LIGHT, LITURGY of THE WORD, BAPTISM, EUCHARIST, and MASS at 8:20 p.m.

ü  April 8, 2012, EASTER SUNDAY: We will follow our regular Sunday Mass schedule as we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord with Masses at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

Please note, there will not be a Tuesday evening Mass during Holy Week so parishioners can attend the Chrism Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral at 6:00 p.m.

 

The parish office will be closed on Good Friday. 

 

NEEDED - BABY FOOD JARS

We are in need of small baby food jars for use at baptisms.

If you have a new baby or know of someone that does please save your jars and ask them to do the same. You can drop them off at the parish office or leave them at the rear of church when you come to Mass.  Thank you.

 

The YOUNG AT HEART ladies will be traveling to the St. Francis Mission in McArthur, OH on May 7th. Items needed are household products (cleaning supplies, bathroom tissue, toothpaste, etc.) and used clothing in good condition. Please contact Catherine at 614.443.6154 for additional information. You can leave your donations in the rear of the Church.
