ONE DAY TO END HOMELESSNESS
You have the power to end homelessness. Donate the amount of one day’s rent or mortgage payment to the Community Shelter Board’s “One Day to End Homelessness Campaign”. All money raised will stay in our community to support the Community Shelter Board’s programs, including prevention and rapid re-housing.
The Community Shelter Board’s approach to homelessness works: The majority of people who receive services during a temporary crisis never need shelter again.
Consider the following:
· 16% more families sought shelter this year than last.
· Demand and costs for family overflow shelter increased by over 5,000% last year.
· 62% of families entering emergency shelter have never used shelter before.
· 1,700 children are homeless, most 7 years old or younger.
The campaign will run from
January 31 to
The Diocese of Columbus supports this effort.
Make sure to see the exciting changes to Face Forward. Meet local teens doing various programs and projects that make a difference - “Ordinary Teens Doing Extraordinary Things”. Also introducing our “Sister Shout Out” to recognize the outstanding work being done by Nuns and Sisters. And we will also be focusing on the initiative to bring Catholics that may have fallen away from the faith to come back with “Catholics Come Home.” The time is now. Head to Face Forward for all things Catholic, all the time.
