NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

THE NEW ROMAN MISSAL

Your bulletin this week includes the second set of several inserts that will explain and prepare you for the changes to the Mass that will begin with the 1st Sunday of Advent, Nov. 27, 2011. In addition to the inserts St. Ladislas is hosting a Parish Mission: The Joy of Worshiping Together on Sept. 25-27 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Fr. Rod Damico and Anita Davidson will be leading this mission which is based on his book The Joy of Worshiping Together.  In addition to reflecting together on the meaning of what we do when we gather for the celebration of the Mass, the new Mass texts will be introduced and explained.

THE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE OFFICE….. asks you to make note that Monday, September 26th  has been set aside as “Family Day - A Day to Eat Dinner with Your Children.” Family Day is the national movement that reminds parents that Dinner Makes A Difference! The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University launched Family day in 2001 after its research consistently found that the more often kids eat dinner with their families, the less likely they are to smoke, drink or use drugs. Those kids are also likelier to get better grades in school and have an excellent relationship with their parents. Join families across the country in sitting down that evening to eat together, without hurry or distraction. Rediscover the sacredness of the family meal.

Lord, it is good to be together. We thank you for the love we share as we share this meal. May it strengthen us to live in service to you and one another. Amen
