REMINDER-HOLIDAY OFFICE SCHEDULE

The parish office will be closed on Monday, May 30th in celebration of Memorial Day. Regular office hours will resume on Tuesday, May 31st.

 

ST. MARY SCHOOL NEWS

The school year is winding down and the last week of school is filled with lots of activities, the highlights of this week is the Baccalaureate Mass on Wednesday, June 1st at 9:45 a.m.; the honors assembly at 1:15 p.m. in the school gymnasium; followed that evening at 7:00 p.m. with the graduation of our 2011 8th grade class.

The last day of school is Friday, June 3rd.

We congratulate our 8th graders and wish them every success as the move onto high school and wish all of our students and teachers a safe and happy summer.

3:00 p.m. The occasion includes a Mass celebrated by Bishop Frederick F. Campbell and a reception in your honor. FRANKLIN COUNTY OFFICE ON AGING DAY AND YOUR COLUMBUS CLIPPERS. 

Enjoy a day filled with fun, entertainment and our home team, Thursday, June 9, 2011. Gates open at 11:15 a.m. and game time is 12:05 p.m. as the Columbus Clippers host the Rochester Red Wings. Fans aged 60 and over attending the event will be treated to reduced ticket prices of just $5.00 for reserved seats and $2.00 for general admission, a boxed lunch and special door prizes. Tickets must be purchased in advance.  Tickets may be obtained by mailing in the attached form or by calling (614) 462-5250.

 

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Ø  German Village 52nd annual Haus and Garten Tour on Sunday, June 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. As in past years St. Mary will open her doors to visitors from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Also keep in mind parking will be at a premium for our morning masses.

Ø  St. Mary Homecoming Festival will be held this year on Friday and Saturday, August 12 -13. This is a major fund raiser for the school. Please watch the bulletin for further updates regarding the festival and your opportunity to make this the most successful festival yet. 

 

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Imagine your own parent or grandparent not feeling safe. The goal of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program of Catholic Social Services is to enhance the quality of life and care of residents of nursing homes and other long-term care facilities by seeking resolutions to problems and advocating for the rights of residents. Are you at least 18 years old and able to commit 2 hours a week to visit? Make a difference. Become a Volunteer Ombudsman Associate. HOLY FAMILY CONFRATERNITY OF CHRISTIAN MOTHERS AND LADIES GUILD…..would like to extend an invitation to all ladies of your parish. We will host Father Angelus Shaughnessy, National Executive Director of the Arconfraternity of Christian Mothers on Saturday June 18th 10:00 a.m. The day will begin with mass at 9:00 a.m. celebrated by Fr. Shaughnessy; followed by brunch at 10:00 a.m. in our church undercroft. Father Shaughnessy will address our group. He is a wonderful spiritual leader. Please consider joining us. SECOND ANNUAL SHRED DAY & PAPER RECYCLING EVENT

  Where: Dwayne Spence Funeral Home, 550 Hill Rd. No., Pickerington, OH 43147 (directly beside Seton Parish).

  When: Sat., June 18, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to noon.

Representatives from St. Vincent de Paul Society will be on site to collect cash donations, clothing and household items, and non-perishable food.

SPECIAL COLLECTION

Next weekend, June 4-5, has been designated as a special collection weekend for Catholic Home Missions. Funds collected work to support home mission dioceses in the United States that are unable to fund important pastoral works. Please use your preprinted envelopes or mark you donation accordingly. Your support will help strengthen the Church at home.

 

ATHLETIC SUMMER CAMPS AT BISHOP READY HIGH SCHOOL

Once again, Bishop Ready High School will be sponsoring various sports summer camps for elementary, middle, and high school students. Camps will be held for: baseball, basketball (boys and girls), bowling, cheerleading, football, volleyball and wrestling.
