BLESSING OF THE FOOD….will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Holy Saturday,  April 23rd, by Father Eugene Linowski.

 

BIBLE STUDY…will take a two week break  during Easter.  The regular schedule will resume on Wed. May 4th. Meetings are held in the Specht Center at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.

 

JORDAN CONFERENCE       

The quarterly Jordon Conference for parents who wish to have a child baptized will be held on Tues. May 10, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the atrium. Please contact the parish office at 445-9668 or email Ann at ann@stmarygv.com to confirm your attendance.

 

HOLY WEEK OFFICE SCHEDULE

The parish office will close at noon on Holy Thursday and will be closed on Good Friday. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, April 25th at 8:00 a.m.

 

GOOD FRIDAY COLLECTION

The Good Friday collection is a special collection for the Holy Land. Your financial donation helps support and protect Christianity’s holiest places. HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

Ø  The 8th grade class will pray the Stations of the Cross at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 18th.

Ø  Thursday, April 21st, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 7:00 p.m.

Ø  Good Friday, April 22nd, Liturgy of the Word, Veneration of the Cross and Holy Communion at 3:00 p.m.

Ø  Easter Vigil, April 23rd, Service of Light, Liturgy of the Word, Baptism and Eucharist at 8:45 p.m.

Ø  Easter Sunday, April 24th, Resurrection of Our Lord, Mass at 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.

 

THE ST. MARY MUSIC PROGRAM….is calling for all singers and those who play an instrument including those who want to learn how to ring the hand-bells, to join us for Holy Week.  The practice schedule leading up to Holy Week will be:  Wed. 4/6 at 7 p.m., Tues. 4/12 at 6 p.m., Fri. 4/15 at 11 a.m. and Wed 4/20 at 7 p.m. Practice times have been scheduled to allow for as many people as possible to participate. Please contact the parish office, or Amanda Walker, awalker40@aol.com  if you can join us, this will assure that we will have enough music for everyone. We look forward to you being with us. 

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS….for these upcoming events:

     The German Village Society is partnering with Community Computer Alliance on Sat., April 23rd at Schiller Park from 11:00 – 4:00 in offering a safe, secure and free way to donate your used electronics.

     No coffee and doughnuts on Easter Sunday.

     2011-2012 Bishop’s Annual Appeal will kick off on the weekend of April 30-May 1.

ST MARY SCHOOL NEWS

St. Mary School is renting tables for the annual Village Valuable Sale on Saturday, May 14, 2011.  Village Valuables is the biggest yard sale in Columbus and the entire village will be hopping with folks from all over the city who are looking for bargains and treasures.  Tables are on the front lawn of the school --a prime location!  Rent a table (or two) -- the profit is all yours!  Table rental: $25.00; each additional table is $20.  Please call the school library @ 443-2432 or email Ms. Ruefle at aruefle@cdeducation.org to secure your tables.

Watson invites St. Mary parishioners to join him in celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the Priesthood on Sunday, May 15, at St. Andrew Church, 1899 McCoy Road. LITURGICAL MINISTERS NEEDED

We will need additional liturgical ministers (lectors and Eucharistic ministers) during Holy Week. Please sign up on the form at the back of church if you can serve on Holy Thursday at 7:00 p.m. during the Mass of the Lord’s Supper or for the Easter Vigil at 8:45 p.m. on Holy Saturday.

 

4-S CLUB LADIES AUXILIARY DINNER

The 4-S Club ladies auxiliary will be serving a Stuffed pork chop dinner with sides and desert on Palm Sunday, April 17th from noon until 3:00 p.m.. The cost is $7.00 per person. Carry is available, call 443-0524.

 

PONTIFICAL COLLEGE JOSEPHINUM & CATHOLIC YOUTH SUMMER CAMP…will welcome youths in grades

8-12 to a Lock-In on Saturday April 30th, 2011 from 10:00 p.m. to Sunday 9:00 a.m. Join us for an evening like no other as we celebrate the Beatification of Pope John Paul II, beloved advocate of the youth.  Brought to you by: The Pontifical College Josephinum and Catholic Youth Summer Camp. The cost is $10.00 per person, which includes all activities, food, and a commemorative T-shirt. St. Mary will pick up the fees for any student that participates in this event.
