RCIA

The RCIA session this week will continue review of the Sacraments with special emphasis on The Sacrament of Reconciliation (CCC: Part 1,Paragraphs 385-421; Part 2, Paragraphs 1420-1498; Part 3, Paragraphs 1730-1876; 1949-2557). The presenter will be Mike Keebaugh. Classes are held each Thurs. at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium.  All are welcome! 

The Third Scrutiny will follow Sunday, April 10th at the 11:30 a.m. Mass.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR the MASS OF THE LORDS’ SUPPER

We need twelve (12) people to volunteer to have their feet washed during the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper.

Holy Week begins Monday,  April 18th; the Mass of the Lord’ s Supper will be held on Holy Thursday, April 21st, at 7:00 p.m. Please contact the parish office at 445-9668 if you would like to volunteer.

 

PENANCE SERVICE

Our south side parishes, St. Mary, St. Ladislas and Corpus Christi, will join together for our combined Lenten penance service on April 10th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary.

REMINDERS

 

YOUNG ADULT CONFERENCE…will be held at St. Thomas More Newman Center, 64 W. Lane Ave. on Saturday, April 9th beginning at 9:00 a.m. and concluding with mass at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $30.00, which includes lunch, workshops, and other conference activities. The Young Adult Conference is for young adults and young professionals throughout the state of Ohio.  Anyone 18 years of age and out of high school up to 39 years of age is invited to come check it out.  The conference is many things and in many ways can be completely what you make of it.  It can be an opportunity to network with other young adults or a chance to hear excellent speakers on such topics as Spirituality in the Workplace or Fair Trade and Social Justice.  The conference can be a retreat, a time of prayer, reflection, and reconciliation; or it can just be that chance to get away, enjoy the food, and check out the expo.   Whatever you make of your time at the conference, hopefully it will provide you with something great to take home with you.  The opportunity is yours. THE PONTIFICAL COLLEGE JOSEPHINUM….. invites you to the final lecture in the 2010-2011 Building Spiritual Bridges to the Community series. On Wednesday, April 13, His Eminence, Jorge María Cardinal Mejía, STD, Archivist and Librarian Emeritus of the Holy Roman Church, will present Reading and Interpreting Holy Scripture: Exegetical Work and Respect of the Mystery. The lecture will be held in the Jessing Center at 7:00 p.m., and is free and open to the public. Call 885-5585 for more information.

THANK YOU FROM ST. MARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND STAFF

Saint Mary Library wishes to extend a big THANK YOU to longtime volunteer and parishioner, Mrs. Martha Goodwin, for her many years of dedicated service.  For more than FOURTY YEARS, Martha has been a loyal volunteer in the school library, coming every week to shelve books and do many other jobs.  We can only imagine how many thousands and thousands of books she must have shelved in four decades!  Martha recently” retired" from her library volunteering, but we will always be grateful for her devotion and service to our school library.  Merci, Mrs. Goodwin!

 

THE ST. MARY MUSIC PROGRAM….is calling for all singers and those who play an instrument including those who want to learn how to ring the hand-bells, to join us for Holy Week.  The practice schedule leading up to Holy Week will be:  Wed. 4/6 at 7 p.m., Tues. 4/12 at 6 p.m., Fri. 4/15 at 11 a.m. and Wed 4/20 at 7 p.m. Practice times have been scheduled to allow for as many people as possible to participate. Please contact the parish office, or Amanda Walker, awalker40@aol.com  if you can join us, this will assure that we will have enough music for everyone. We look forward to you being with us.
