RCIA

Due to Ash Wednesday Mass and the beginning of Lent there will be NO RCIA Class on Thursday, March 10. We will resume our regular schedule next week, March 17th.

 

ASH WEDNESDAY AND STATIONS OF THE CROSS SCHEDULE

v Ash Wednesday mass times will be: 9:45 a.m.; noon and 7:00 p.m. Our Ash Wednesday collections will be used to support JOIN (Joint Organization for Inner-city Needs). Please use your preprinted envelopes or mark your donation accordingly.

WALK THE STATIONS

Location: St Joseph's Cathedral, Columbus

Join hundreds of Catholics from around the Diocese as we walk the streets of Columbus on Good Friday morning remembering the Passion of our Lord on His walk to Calvary. We will be praying the Stations of the Cross while visiting various sites that remind us that sin and hurt are very present in our everyday lives.

GALA UPDATE

The 2011 Gala held the past weekend was enjoyed by all. Congratulations to our Gala winners: Karen Wiegandt won the $5,000 tuition raffle; the digital camera by Helen Wichham Seikel; the $100 bill by 4th grader, Griffin Hill; and the 10x raffle winner was Pam Thomas.

Thank you to everyone who gave of their time, talent and treasure in making this a memorable event. Special thanks to Julie Graham-Price and Brian Collins for all their efforts in making this annual event a big success.  

 

THE PONTIFICAL COLLEGE JOSEPHINUM'S…… annual lecture series continues Wednesday, March 16, as Most Rev. Thomas C. Collins, STD, President of the Ontario Conference of Catholic Bishops, presents The Priest and Scripture. The lecture will be held in the Jessing Center at 7:00 p.m., and is free and open to the public. LENTEN FISH FRY – 4-S CLUB

Throughout Lent, beginning Friday, March 11th, the 4-S Club will hold their annual fish fry from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. All you can eat fish including two sides, rolls, and desert, all for $10.00. Carry out is available, call 443-0524.

 

40 Days for LIFE

Christians throughout Columbus are invited to take part in the international 40 Days for Life effort from March 9 through April 17. In addition to 40 days of peaceful prayer and fasting for an end to abortion, please consider volunteering to pray outside of Complete Healthcare for Women, 5888 Cleveland Ave., where abortions are performed, during the 40 days, and spread the word to others about this important life-saving effort. EMPLOYMENT OUTREACH

We are excited to kick off an exciting employment outreach effort for our local community!  It is absolutely free to all! Where: St. Ladislas Church.

When: Each Sunday from 1:30 -3:30 beginning March 20, 2011.

This program will consist of a several week ministry program, offering prayer, education, training and support. Topics will include resumes, job-seeking, interview prep and networking.

Please join us if this type of service can assist you and encourage others in need to join us. To date, this ministry has assisted 423 individuals gain employment! YOUNG at HEART

The ladies of our Young at Heart group will be making their spring trip to St. Francis Mission in McArthur in May. Items needed are: non-perishable food items, clean usable clothing, household articles, such as, toilet tissue, toothpaste, laundry detergent, paper towels and used furniture. You can drop your donations off in the vestibule or contact Betty at 444-8802 or Catherine at 443-6154 to make arrangement for larger item.

 

SPECIAL DIOCESAN COLLECTION

Next weekend, March 12-13, the Diocese of Columbus has designated as a special collection for Black and Native American Missions. Please use your preprinted envelopes or mark your donation accordingly.

The annual St. Mary basketball tournament will be held over the next two (2) weekends at St. Mary School. St. Mary schools from all around Ohio participate in this event each year. Start time for the 1st weekend (3/4-5) begins at 5:00 p.m. and continues all day on Saturday. Start time for the 2nd weekend (3/11-12) begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues all day on Saturday. Come and watch some great competition and support our St. Mary teams.
