RCIA

The RCIA session this week will continue reviewing the Sacraments with special emphasis on Anointing of the Sick. The presenter this week will be Mike Keebaugh. SPECIAL ATTENTION TO THE LOCATION: This week only the meeting will be held Thurs. at 7:00 p.m. in the upper Room at Gresso's Pub & Grill, 961 S. High St. All are welcome!

 

CATHOLIC CEMETARY NOTICE

Spring Clean Up: beginning March 1st at St. Joseph, Resurrection, Holy Cross, and Mt. Calvary Cemeteries will begin cleaning off wintertime decorations.  Families are advised to remove any personal keepsakes they wish to retain before March 1.

Ø  St. Mary basketball tournament will be held the weekends of March 4-5 and March 11-12

Ø  The annual Daughters of Erin Irish breakfast is set for March 13th.

Ø  The Catholic Women’s conference will be held on Feb. 26th. You can pick up brochures at the back of the church.

Ø  The Catholic Men’s conference follows a week later on March 5th.

Ø  Stations of the Cross will be held each Friday at 7:00 p.m. during Lent on a rotating basis beginning March, 11, 2011 at Corpus Christ. Watch the bulletin for the complete schedule.

CHANGE TO WEEKDAY MASS SCHEDULE

Daily masses scheduled for Tuesday (9:45 school mass; 5:30 evening mass) and Wednesday (the noon mass) of the upcoming week will be cancelled due to a diocesan wide meeting for all priests to review the sacramentary changes that will become part of the mass beginning the first Sunday of Advent 2011.

 

 

COLLEGE DAY at the JOSEPHINUM

Attention young men who are high school juniors and seniors! Are you out and about visiting colleges this month? Are you making plans for your future? Consider your choices! Come to the Pontifical College Josephinum this Monday, February 21st from 9:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. and spend the day with us!  You will be amazed by the splendor, friendship and fraternity that is inside our doors.  Considering your choices for the future means considering ALL your choices. We have an action packed day planned that will include a campus tour, discussions, meals, prayer time with the college seminarians, attendance at classes, and time for recreation too!  There is no charge for College Day.  Our festivities begin at 9:30 a.m. and go until 7:00 p.m.  More information here:

LENTEN AND EASTER TRADITIONS

The Marriage and Family Life Office has revised and expanded their booklet of prayers, rituals, ideas and activities for the Lent and Easter seasons. “Lenten and Easter Traditions: Keeping the Seasons Holy is a valuable tool in making the celebration of these liturgical seasons more meaningful. This booklet contains suggestions to bring the family together in sharing the sacredness of the liturgical seasons of Lent through Pentecost, and provides historical and theological explanations, as well. It is available by contacting the office at 614/241-2560 or emailing FLOMailbox@colsdioc.org. The price is $5.00 a copy, which includes the cost of postage. Inquire about quantity prices for parish group activities. 

 

A CELEBRATION of LIFE

St. Ladislas Parish invites you to join them for a celebration of life on Sunday, March 6th at 4:00 p.m. at the parish. There will be contemporary Christian praise and worship led by the band, Rod & Staff. Bring your family and friends, and in addition to the music and worship you can celebrate Father Rod’s birthday. Refreshments to follow.

 

LENTEN RETREAT

A silent retreat sponsored by the Catholic Laywomen’s Retreat League will be held the weekend of March 11-13, 2011 at St. Therese’s Retreat Center. It is open to all Catholic women in the Diocese. Father John Stattmiller will present “Let’s Talk About Our Faith”. Registration deadline is March 4th. For additional information contact Sharon Gehrlich at 614-882-1946.
