RCIA

The RCIA session this week will continue reviewing the Sacraments with special emphasis on Confirmation. The presenters will be seminarian students from the Pontifical College Josephinum Apostolic Works Program, Stephen Smith and Tony Davis. Meetings are held each Thurs. at 7:00 p.m. in the Atrium.  All are welcome!

CATHOLIC CEMETARY NOTICE

Spring Clean Up: beginning March 1st at St. Joseph, Resurrection, Holy Cross, and Mt. Calvary Cemeteries will begin cleaning off wintertime decorations.  Families are advised to remove any personal keepsakes they wish to retain before March 1.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS

Mark your calendar for the following events:

Ø  St. Mary basketball tournament will be held the weekends of March 4-5 and March 11-12

Ø  The annual Daughters of Erin Irish breakfast is set for March 13th.

Ø  The Catholic Women’s conference will be held on Feb. 26th. You can pick up brochures at the back of the church.

Ø  The Catholic Men’s conference follows a week later on March 5th.

Ø  Stations of the Cross will be held each Friday at 7:00 p.m. during Lent on a rotating basis beginning March, 11, 2011 at Corpus Christ. Watch the bulletin for the complete schedule.

 

THE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE OFFICE….has revised and expanded their booklet of prayers, rituals, ideas and activities for the Lenten and Easter seasons. “Lenten and Easter Traditions: Keeping the Seasons Holy is a valuable tool in making the celebration of these liturgical seasons more meaningful. This booklet contains suggestions to bring the family together in sharing the sacredness of the liturgical seasons of Lent through Pentecost, and provides historical and theological explanations, as well. ST. JOSEPH THE WORKER BUSINESS NETWORK FOR CENTRAL OHIO CATHOLICS... will host an afterhours networking event Thurs. February 17 at 5:30 p.m. at P.K. O'Ryan's Pub,

666 High St., downtown Worthington. Networking and complimentary lighter fare will be available at 5:30 and a presentation by Dr. Perry Cahall will begin at 6:00 p.m. Dr. Cahall will present for 15 minutes on being Catholic in the workplace. Networking will follow the presentation. This is a free event for St. Joseph the Worker members AND for non-members who want to check out the organization one time. AREA HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

       Bishop Ready….the placement exam for in-coming freshmen at Bishop Ready will be held on Sat., Mar. 5th beginning at 8:45 a.m.; scholarship exams will be held on Sat. Mar. 12 and 19, beginning at 9 a.m. All exams are held at the school. For more information, please call Bishop Ready High School at 614-276-5263.

       Bishop Hartley….the following students from St. Mary were named to the 2nd Quarter Honor Roll: Frances Collins, Paula Dunlap, Amanda Hilsheimer, Zachary Johnson, Alec

Kaple, Aliyah    McConahay, Anne Minner, Emily Monds. Students at Hartley must achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in order to be named to the Honor Roll. 

       The Bishop Hartley Drama Department Presents Hairspray on February 24, 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door to the Dick Geyer Gymnasium located on the BHHS campus.
