This is an event not to be missed, bringing together some of our nation’s leading Catholic speakers; among them Columbus’ own Msgr. Frank Lane and Bishop Frederick Campbell. Others on the list include Marcus Grodi and Dr. Scott and Kimberly Hahn.  For more information contact The Coming Home Network International at

The announcement published this past weekend regarding volunteers to decorate the church during the Christmas and Easter seasons has resulted in one of our parishioners, Rita Alexander, stepping up and agreeing to chair this team. She is hoping to have at least 6-10 members on this team. Please contact the parish office if you can help out with this project.

Saint Mary Library extends its appreciation and gratitude to the many, many parishioners who attended our 17th annual Spaghetti dinner. More than 700 people came to the dinner, and the Library profited $4,000!   We will use that money to help support our many literacy activities and programs, and we are grateful for the continued support from our parish family at Saint Mary.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for the warm send off last weekend.  I will cherish my time and memories here at St. Mary’s and will truly miss you all.  Thank you also for the nice gift!  Very unexpected and much appreciated.

I want to announce that Deacon Mickey Hawkins will be taking my place.  Deacon Hawkins has been offered and has accepted the position of Business Manager here at St. Mary’s.  He brings many years of experience and will be a great fit for St. Mary’s.  His previous job was at St. Joan of Arc as Director of Finance and Development.  Before that he was responsible for turning PIME Missionary Center in Newark into Sts. Peter and Paul Retreat Center.  His start date is this Monday, October 4th.  Please extend Deacon Mickey a kind and warm St. Mary’s welcome!

I also want to let you know that work has begun on the platform where the tabernacle is sitting.  The carpet will be removed and the platform will be built to match that of Mary and Joseph.  The platform will have steps that enable easier access into the tabernacle and the wood will replace the carpet making it more fitting for our sanctuary.  Again, the goal is to get new carpet in the sanctuary, but first we need to get carpet off of virtual surfaces.  Your donations are making this work possible. We are still in need of donations to make this work and future work possible.  Please consider contributing to St. Mary’s as we continue to beautify our church.
