NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

EXPRESSING YOUR SPIRITUALITY THROUGH THE ARTS….is scheduled to be held at Martin de Porres Center, 2330 Airport Drive, Col. OH. Presented by Queen E. Brooks-Sat., July 31 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Coinciding with our current exhibit, “Evolution of the Girl Child,” local artist Queen Brooks will offer a workshop exploring how artists—and the artist in all of us—express spirituality through created works. A lecture/discussion, punctuated by slides of artwork by Queen and others, combined with a hands-on activity, will give participants an insight into this little known or discussed aspect of art. Participants are encouraged to bring some small item they feel spiritually connected to. Queen will show how the item may be turned into, incorporated in, or used as an inspiration for an art piece grounded in spirituality. Suggested donation is $10.00. Please register by July 29.

YOUNG AT HEART FESTIVAL FOR ACTIVE SENIORS…will be celebrated on August 10, 2010.

SNP started this festival sixteen years ago when we realized how very different seniors are today than in past generations.  With better health and longer lives, seniors are an important factor in the collective soul of a community.  This year we have an extensive line-up of entertainment and more than 50 health, business and community organization exhibitors taking part in the festival. This year's event will be held at the Aladdin Shrine Center, 3850 Stelzer Rd., near Easton Town Center, from

9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Admission and parking are free. For more information about the Young at Heart Festival contact Young at Heart Festival Director Brian Wesolowski at (614) 410-0246.
