CARPENTERS WANTED

The homecoming committee is in search of carpenters to help with the repair of some of the gaming tables used for the festival. If you have a talent in this area and can volunteer two or three hours of your time please call or email Ann Anderson at 445-9668 or ann@stmarygv.com

 

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

The 5th annual St. Mary Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, 2010. This event will be held at Foxfire Golf Club, Lockbourne, OH. All proceeds benefit St. Mary School tuition assistance fund and is sponsored by the 4-S Club.

 

SPECIAL COLLECTION – PETER’S PENCE

Next weekend, June 26-27, our diocese will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the assistance he needs to carry out his most important charitable works. The proceeds benefit victims of war, oppression, and disasters. Please use your preprinted envelopes or mark you donation for: Peter’s Pence.

2010 CATHOLIC WOMAN/YOUNG CATHOLIC WOMAN OF THE YEAR

The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) is pleased to offer you the opportunity to recognize and nominate an outstanding Catholic Woman from your parish, to be honored at our 2010 Annual Catholic Woman/Young Catholic Women of the Year Awards Event on Sunday August 22, 2010 at St. Charles Preparatory School, 5:00-9:00 p.m. This year marks the 22nd Annual Catholic Woman of the Year and the 7th Annual Young Catholic Woman of the Year awards. Help us recognize those women you know who, out of love for God, give unselfishly to Family, Parish, or Community. All women who are nominated will receive recognition from Bishop Campbell at the event. Nomination forms are available on-line at www.dccw.colsdioc.org or at the rear of the church. Details for submitting a nomination are explained on the form as certain criteria are required. Nominations are due in the DCCW office by July 26. JOIN (Joint Organization for Inner City Needs)
The JOIN Annual Mass of Thanksgiving for friends and benefactors will be at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wed., June 23, 2010 at 5:15 p.m., followed by a reception in the undercroft.  The celebrant will be Bishop Frederick F. Campbell.  Service awards will be presented following Mass.  All friends of JOIN are invited to the Mass and reception.  Please RSVP to JOIN at 614-241-2530 by June 16, 2010.

SUMMER SPANISH CLASSES

Interested in learning conversational Spanish? Join the Spanish Classes for adults forming at Christ the King Church in Bexley, or St. Michael’s Church in Worthington. Classes are held once a week from 6:00-7:00 p.m. (Beginners) and 7:15-8:15 (Intermediate). This course will run from June 29th through Sept. 1st. JORDAN CONFERENCE

REMARRIAGE PREPARATION WORKSHOP…..will be held Tuesday evenings July 13, 20, 27; August 3, 2010 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at The Catholic Center, 197 E. Gay Street, Columbus.  Cost is $50 per couple. 2010 BISHOP HARTLEY FOOTBALL CAMP

The Hartley Hawks will be conducting their annual youth football camp on June 29, 30 and July 1 from

9:00 a.m. to noon at the newly renovated Jack Ryan Field. The camp is available to students entering grades 3-8 and the cost is $60.00.  The camp focuses on individual and group football skills for all positions as well as an emphasis on team building skills.
