LITURGICAL MINISTERS NEEDED

If you are interested in serving the church as a lector or an extraordinary minister please contact the parish office at 445-9668 or email ann@stmarygv.com . Deacon Roger Minner will provide you with the guidelines and the proper procedures for assisting in this special ministry.

 

BIBLE STUDY

We have completed another year, our 7th consecutive, of bible study. We will gather for our annual end of year social on June 16th. We will begin a new year of study with the book of Galatians in late August or early September, watch the bulletin for updates. Bible study will move from 6:00 p.m. on Wed. evening to 6:00 p.m. on Tues. evening  when we resume in the late summer/early fall.

 

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL COLLECTION

Through your generous donations we collected $1,443.94 for St. Vincent de Paul during our 5th Sunday special collection on May 30th.

 

ANNOITNING OF THE SICK

The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will take place after all the masses next weekend – June 19-20.

2010 Catholic Woman/Young Catholic Woman of the Year

The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) is pleased to offer you the opportunity to recognize and nominate an outstanding Catholic Woman from your parish, to be honored at our 2010 Annual Catholic Woman/Young Catholic Women of the Year Awards Event on Sunday August 22, 2010 at St. Charles Preparatory School, 5:00-9:00 p.m. This year marks the 22nd Annual Catholic Woman of the Year and the 7th Annual Young Catholic Woman of the Year awards. Help us recognize those women you know who, out of love for God, give unselfishly to Family, Parish, or Community. All women who are nominated will receive recognition from Bishop Campbell at the event. Nomination forms are available on-line at www.dccw.colsdioc.org or at the rear of the church. Details for submitting a nomination are explained on the form as certain criteria are required. Nominations are due in the DCCW office by July 26. NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

JOIN (Joint Organization for Inner City Needs)
The JOIN Annual Mass of Thanksgiving for friends and benefactors will be at St. Joseph Cathedral, Wed., June 23, 2010 at 5:15 p.m., followed by a reception in the undercroft.  The celebrant will be Bishop Frederick F. Campbell.  Service awards will be presented following Mass.  All friends of JOIN are invited to the Mass and reception.  Please RSVP to JOIN at 614-241-2530 by June 16, 2010. 

 

CARPENTERS WANTED

The homecoming committee is in search of carpenters to help with the repair of some of the gaming tables used for the festival. If you have a talent in this area and can volunteer two or three hours of your time please call or email Ann Anderson at 445-9668 or ann@stmarygv.com

 

ST MARY YOUNG at HEART LUNCHEON

The annual Young at Heart luncheon and games party will be held on June 21st at 11:30 a.m. in the school gymnasium. Admission is $7.00, which includes lunch.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR

The 5th annual St. Mary Golf Outing is scheduled for Sunday, September 19, 2010. This event will be held at Foxfire Golf Club, Lockbourne, OH. All proceeds benefit St. Mary School tuition assistance fund and is sponsored by the 4-S Club.

As we gather together this weekend to honor our own Father Thomas and Father Sylvester let us remember all those who have devoted their lives to the church and her people in our day and in ages past.

 

A Prayer for Priests and Priestly Vocations

 

Heavenly Father, please grant to Your faithful servants, the grace and strength to carry out Your mission for the church each day. Keep our priest close to You and continue to inspire them to serve others in Your holy name. Please help to inspire men who are called to a priestly vocation to answer Your call and participate in the fullness that You have planned for them. Amen.

MID OHIO SHREDDING…. will be holding a Free Shred Event with all proceeds going to the Fraternal Order of Police Charities – Lodge #9. SUMMER SPANISH CLASSES

Interested in learning conversational Spanish? Join the Spanish Classes for adults forming at Christ the King Church in Bexley, or St. Michael’s Church in Worthington. Classes are held once a week from 6:00-7:00 p.m. (Beginners) and 7:15-8:15 (Intermediate). This course will run from June 29th through Sept. 1st. BISHOP READY COMMENCEMENT

Four parishioners were among the 117 graduating seniors at Bishop Ready High School’s 46th Commencement Ceremony, held on Saturday, May 29. Bradley Duvall, Sean Lawler, David Martello, and Katelyn Ratliff received their high school diplomas from principal Celene A. Seamen. We congratulate these fine young people and wish them well in their future endeavors.
