RCIA – 2009 – 2010

The RCIA group will celebrate their reception into the church by gathering for a cookout on the rectory patio on April 21st at 6:30 p.m.

JORDAN CONFERENCE

The quarterly Jordon Conference session for parents who wish to have a child baptized will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the atrium. Please contact the parish office at 445-9668 to confirm your attendance.

The MARRIAGE & FAMILY LIFE OFFICE of the DIOCESE of COLUMUBS… will conduct their Natural Family Planning 2010 Spring Workshop on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

(Couples should expect to attend all 5 sessions)

The dates are: April 27, May 11, May 25, June 15 and July 13. Sessions will be hosted by: SS. Simon and Jude Parish, West Columbus Deanery, 9350 High Free Pike, West Jefferson, OH 43162. Cost is $60 per couple. Financial assistance is available.

Vino et Veritas: Wine and Truth meets the first Thursday of every month in the basement of Gresso’s starting at 7:00 p.m.  Mark your calendars for May 6th.  Fr. Sylvester will be the presenter.  We start with a wine tasting, followed by a presentation, and then we play, “Stump the Priest” where you can win a free dinner!  Bring your friends and join us for this fun evening.

ST. MARY SCHOOL UPCOMING HAPPENINGS

Ø  St. Mary School annual FLOWER SALE sponsored by the Home & School Association is currently taking orders for its annual sale.  Order forms can be found in the back of church.  All orders are due by Friday, April 30th; flowers will be available for pick up on Friday, May 7th. Please see order forms for details.  Thank you for helping the school while making the world more beautiful.

Ø  St Mary Library invites all parishioners to participate in our 17th annual Family Cake Decorating Contest on Monday, May 3rd. Cakes may be decorated with either a reading/book theme, or connected to our current theme, "The Art of Reading." Cakes should be dropped off by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the contest.   Parishioners are invited to stop by on May 3rd to see all the amazing cakes; this year promises to have some real masterpieces!

Ø  Right to Read Week will climax with an art festival on Friday, May 7th beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

GERMAN VILLAGE STREET CLEANING

Please keep in mind that the city of Columbus cleans Third St. , City Park and Mohawk once a month between April and October on the 2nd Tuesday (the west side) and the 2nd Wednesday (the east side). There is no parking permitted on these days during 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. They will tow your car! If you would like a printed schedule please contact the office or visit www.germanvillage.com

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS – SPRING SERVICE SATURDAY

Catholic Social Services is in need of volunteers for the upcoming Spring Service Saturday scheduled for May 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Volunteers will help the elderly and most vulnerable within our community with home improvement projects. All volunteers will meet in the St. Mary school gymnasium at 8:30 a.m. Lunch will be provided at your work site. If you are unable to volunteer please consider making a tax deductable donation.
