It’s not too late to give the gift of love to those who are struggling this Christmas season. Please check the tables at the back of church and select a card. Each card will include specific instructions regarding price level, packaging, and drop off dates. Here is your opportunity to share the blessings you have been given during this blessed season.

v December 4th: Chili and Carols at St. Mary School. This event is a great way to kick off the Christmas Holiday season.

v Sunday, Dec. 6th: Maennerchor Concert at St. Mary Church - Buffet at Maennerchor to follow.

v December 6th: German Village annual Village Lights. Dine, shop and stroll the streets of German Village from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Please note, St. Mary bingo will be held that same evening so parking in our lot will be limited. 

v Advent Penance Service: Dec. 20th at 2:00 p.m.

v February 27, 2010: Columbus Catholic Women’s Conference at the Ohio Expo Center-Lausche Building.

 

ATTENTION ALL YOUNG ADULTS

St. Mary’s in conjunction with stumpthepriest.com will be hosting a series of talks entitled, “Reasons to Believe.”  We will meet the first Thursday of every month at Gresso’s on High Street at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting is on Dec. 3rd. People are encouraged to come early (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) for dinner and fellowship. The evening will consist of a featured wine and wine instruction (this was a huge hit last month), a raffle, a brief talk on why we believe what we believe, and questions answered by Father Josh Wagner from stumpthepriest.com.  Start reserving your first Thursdays to come and learn about your faith in an interesting and exciting way and meet new people!  Email jasonshanks@stmarygv.com with questions or for more information.  Participants pay for their own dinner and drinks

CELTIC CHRISTMAS SHOW                                                  The 2009 Celtic Christmas Show is set for Fri. Dec. 4 and Sat. Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m. at the Shamrock Club of Columbus, 60 West Castle Dr., Col. OH. Tickets are $10 for Adults (18 and over)or $20 per Family (children under 18). There will be a Chinese Auction / Raffle. Performances by the Columbus Celtic Chorus, The Shamrock Club Pipes and Drums, St. Mary's Bell Choir and Guest Performers with a special appearance by Santa Claus. COUNTDOWN TO GALA

The 5th annual St Mary Gala will be held on January 30, 2010 at the Columbus Athenaeum. Tickets purchased prior to Dec. 31st will receive a $20.00 discount for each ticket.  All funds raised go toward tuition assistance for St. Mary students. Watch the bulletin for further updates.

 

The MARRIAGE and FAMILY LIFE OFFICE…is offering an eight-week workshop for individuals going through the divorce process. The series will begin on Thur., January 28, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Catholic Center, 197 E. Gay Street. The registration fee is $40.00; financial assistance is available. HEALTH CARE WORKSHOP

A free heath care workshop for Franklin county residents

age 60 and over will be held on Tues. Dec. 1st from

10:00 a.m. to noon or 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Central Community House located at 1150 East Main Street. This workshop will help you:

·    Understand your health insurance/Medicare

·    Communicate with your doctor

·    Locate affordable health care resources.
