The class topic for this week is “Jesus, Who do you say I am?” presented by Mike Keebaugh. You don’t have to be investigating Catholicism to attend and grow in your knowledge of our faith.  The class meets from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Burkley Atrium.  Access through the backdoor off of the parking lot.     



The Sacrament of Penance will be celebrated here on Saturdays from 3:00 to 3:30 except for October 11th.  The Sacrament will be celebrated on Mondays immediately after the noon mass except for October 13th.

LIFE CHAIN 2008 – Life Chain is a one hour “prayer chain” in witness to an end of abortion in our nation.  At 4:15 p.m. on Tues. Oct. 7th people will gather at the McKinley Monument on the statehouse grounds where you can choose an 18 x 22 inch sign with a pro-life message on it which you can hold during this silent, prayerful protest.  Our silent one-hour witness begins at 4:30.  Several prayers are on the reverse side of the signs which can be spoken silently during the one-hour witness.  All ages are encouraged and welcome to attend.  “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time, we will reap the harvest if we do not give up.”  Galatians 6:9.

CHILD CARE...children old enough to use the restroom can be cared for in our pre-school facility so that their parents can attend the parish mission talks. The talks will last approximately one hour each evening.



Special thanks to our young adult group who will host refreshments after each of the parish mission talks in the Atrium next to the parish offices.



Some folks may want to come to the parish mission talks but need transportation.  Call the office at 445 9668 if you can offer a ride or need a ride.



Father Thomas would like to take the youth group on a couple of outings on Sunday, October 19 and 26.  He is need of some drivers to offer transportation.  Please call him if you can help.




We will again have seminarians assigned to St. Mary by the Pontifical College Josephinum that will take Holy Communion to homebound parishioners.  If you know of anyone that should be included on this list please contact the parish office at 445-9668.



Mark your calendar and plan to join other 20-30 Some- things for a group outing to the Columbus Italian Festival on Sunday, October 12th following the 11:30 Mass. Come meet new people, enjoy great food and festivities and check out the beautiful St. John the Baptist Italian Catholic

The Pontifical College of Josephinum will host a College Live-in Oct. 9–11 for young men who are juniors and seniors in high school and college students who are interested in knowing more about seminary life. The Live-in will include campus tours, discussions, meals, prayer, and recreation. There is no charge for this event. For information contact

St. Mary’s 20/30 Somethings (SMAC) in partnership with Catholic Social Services is hosting Service Saturday 2008, October 25th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.   In conjunction with Ohio’s Make a Difference Day, volunteers will help work on house projects throughout central Ohio for the elderly and most vulnerable among us.  We will meet at St. Mary’s at 9 a.m. for brief instructions, assignments and of course coffee and juice. Lunch will be provided! Can’t volunteer?  Tax deductible gifts to St. Mary’s (indicate Service Saturday in the memo line) can help provide tools and materials for the job sites.  All monies raised will go to helping make Service Saturday a success!  To “make a difference” sign up in the back of Church or email/call Jason in the parish office.  This service project is open to everyone!


DIOCESAN FAMILY ROSARY DAY CELEBRATION…will be held Sunday, Oct. 12th at 3:00 p.m. at Christ the King Church, 2777 E. Livingston Ave. Bishop Frederick F. Campbell will preside at this one-hour ceremony and will celebrate Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.



St. Ladislas Senior Stars will be making their annual trip to Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, Ohio, on Oct. 16th. The trip cost is $20.00 plus your cost for lunch at the Shrine cafeteria.
