It is not too late to join Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  Meetings are held each Wednesday in the meeting room in the Burkley Center (located past the restrooms).  The class is from 7:00-8:30pm.  RCIA is a great opportunity to learn more about the Catholic faith.


R.C.I.C. - Rite of Christian Initiation of Children will meet each Sunday beginning September 28th starting at

10:00 a.m. in the school gymnasium. Each session will last approximately 1 hour. This program is for children who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism or First Communion.  It is also for children who are not Catholic, but would like to be so.



The Sacrament of Penance will be celebrated here on Saturdays from 3:00 to 3:30 except for October 11th.  The Sacrament will be celebrated on Mondays immediately after the noon mass except for October 13th.

Father Jack Collins was ordained to the Paulist Fathers in 1970.  For years, he was pastor of the Newman Center Parish at Ohio State.  Since then, he has given over three hundred parish missions all over the country.  He is a wonderful and enjoyable speaker.  Father Thomas feels he is one of the best speakers on spiritual matters he has ever heard.



Are you praying for guidance in the upcoming elections?  There is a novena on line at  It can be prayed privately or taken to your favorite prayer group or club meeting.



Father Thomas is trying to arrange a trip to King’s Island for Sunday, September 28 after the 9:00 mass. However, he needs to know now if you are interested.  Since it involves transportation, the trip is open only to our own parishioners and alumni.  Call 445 9668 and leave a message today.

After the last mass this weekend, the Knights of Columbus will serve up a picnic in the front yard of school (or in the gym in case of rain).  Bring your favorite side dish.  The knights will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and pop.  


PONTIFICAL COLLEGE JOSEPHINUM LECTURE SERIES 2008-2009 Building Spiritual Bridges to the Community lecture series!  The series begins Wednesday, September 24, as Ralph McInerny, Ph.D., presents “Newman and Natural Theology” at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center on the Josephinum campus.  The event is free of charge and open to the public; reservations not required. All are invited to take part in the ecumenical, national "40 Days for Life" effort from September 24 through November 2.  It is 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion in America. Apologetics Speaker Presentation on "The Church"
Monday, September 22nd at 7 p.m. Mr. Paul Pennino of St. Brendan will give a presentation on the differences between the Catholic view of One Holy Catholic Church and the Protestant view of 'a loose affiliation of like minded believers'. We are told that this presentation is sure to be insightful as well as entertaining!
