R.C.I.C.—Rite of Christian Initiation of Children will be started this fall. This program is for children who have not received the Sacraments of Baptism or First Communion.  It is also for children who are not Catholic, but would like to be so. We are in urgent need of one or two dedicated instructors. Please call Jason at 445-9668 for more information or if you are willing to serve as an instructor for this important ministry.

REMINDERS AND UPDATES

 

THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION…will be celebrated each Saturday from 3:00 to 3:30 except for August 2nd.

 

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We need assistance with the 3rd Annual 4-S Golf Outing to make this another success for the Tuition Assistance Fund of St. Mary's School for your children. Please come to our next meeting, Tuesday, July 29 at the 4-S Club, 281 East Whittier Street, starting at 7pm. For additional

 

YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY PLANNING… continues with our next leadership meeting scheduled for July 30th at 7pm in the Specht Center. Anyone interested in serving on one of our three committees: Social, Service, or Spiritual should attend.  Plans are in the works for our kickoff cookout with Father Thomas in August.  The young adult ministry will be working the soda booth at the festival.  This will be a great way to serve our parish and get to meet other 20/30 something’s in our parish. To sign up to help please contact Jen Yannayon at

CHANGE to WEDDING SCHEDULING

If you are a bride/groom looking to schedule a wedding here at St. Mary’s or St. Leo’s please attend one of our marriage information nights held on the third Monday of every month at 7p.m. in the Atrium of the Burkley Center (located by the parish offices).  We will not be scheduling  dates or answering questions regarding getting married  over the phone. We want to meet you in person and make sure you have all the necessary information.

 

ST. MARY ALUMNI CHOIR

Plans are in the works to have a St. Mary Alumni Choir perform at the Homecoming Mass. This is open to all who would like to join us in this special ministry. There will be a one time practice on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (just prior to mass) as song selection will be made up of music familiar to all.  If interested please contact the parish office at

HOMECOMING IS COMING!

Reserve August 8 and 9 to enjoy St. Mary’s annual homecoming festival. Watch for your raffle tickets in the mail. And please consider being a volunteer. Deal cards, help with Thursday set up, work at one of the booths, or just volunteer wherever you are most needed. Please join Greater Columbus Right to Life for their 1st Annual Steps for Life and picnic on Saturday, August 2 at Fred Beekman Park on the campus of The Ohio State University from 9 a.m. until noon. Walk to raise funds and awareness for the pro-life cause. Joining this effort will be Crossroads, a group of young adults who are walking across the country and will be in Columbus on August 2. CHURCH IN LATIN AMERICANext weekend, Aug. 2nd and 3rd has been designated by the diocese as the annual “collection for the Church in Latin America”. Please use your envelopes marked for this special collection.

The proceeds of the collection for the Church in Latin America continue to have a significant impact on the lives of millions of Catholics across the American hemisphere.

 

PARKING WARNING

St. Mary’s does not own the lot closest to the bank branch. If you park there for mass, your car may be towed. The owners of the building have agreed to let us use their lot after 5:00 p.m. on the nights of the festival, and we are grateful for their help in this regard.

 

ARCHIVES

All are welcome to visit the St. Mary’s school archives room the nights of the festival. The room in Specht Hall will be open from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each evening.
