DAILY MASS CHANGE REMINDER:  The noon mass will not be celebrated on April 22.  It will be moved to April 24.  This will happen again on May 5, due to diocesan events.  The May 5 mass will be moved to May 8.

A MUSICAL WEEKEND AHEAD:  Remember, after the Mary Haugen concert on Friday and the Aaron Diehl concert on Sunday, a third part of our musical weekend takes place Sunday the 20th at 2:00.

Youth Group Meeting:  All high school students and our 7th and 8th graders are invited to a youth group meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 in the Atrium. A brief film will be followed by discussion and refreshments.

Young Adults: Are you looking for a fun way to learn more about your Catholic faith and meet people who share it? Join us for Theology and a Pub at the Columbus Maennerchor, 966 So. High St., on Thursday, Arpil 24!  Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and  the discussion begins at 7:30 p.m. Admission is just $2.00, and food and drink are available for puchase. This months speaker is Fr. Ervens Mengelle, SSL, Assistant Professor at the Pontifical College Josephinum, on the topic of La Iglesia: The Church in Latin America.

All parishioners are invited to participate in our 15th annual FAMILY  CAKE DECORATING CONTEST, Monday, April 21, as part of our Right to Read Week celebration. Our theme this year is based on the ocean: “Ride the Reading Wave!” Families may bake and decorate a cake based on a book or a reading theme. Lots of prizes! Parishioners are also invited to view or purchase cakes on display during the school day, 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.


Also, our annual RIGHT TO READ WEEK & FAMILY READING FESTIVAL is set for Friday, April 26, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the school gym for Preschoolers-3rd grade. All are welcome. Please stop by the school any time during Right to Read Week (April 21-25) to see the fabulous work our students have been creating. Call the library at 443-2532 for additional details

Liturgical Music is Like Praying Twice!  Please consider joining one of our two choirs.  No musical experience necessary!  Our 9 am choir rehearses on Weds. at 7pm. Our 11:30 am choir rehearses on Tuesdays at 6pm.  We are always looking for more voices to enhance our worship.  Consider giving your time and talent to this ministry. Catholic Women’s Annual Retreat:  All women of the Diocese are invited to attend this event scheduled for April 18, 19, 20, 2008 at St. Therese’s Retreat Center, 5277 E. Broad St., Columbus. The offering for the weekend is $100.00 (a $50.00 deposit will hold your room).  Registrations forms can be found in the back of the church, under the picture of the Pope.

Catholic Men’s Conference: This event has been rescheduled for April 26th because of the “blizzard of ‘08”.

An evening with the Real Diehl!!

St. Mary’s welcomes home one of its alumni, jazz phenomenon Aaron Diehl for a one-night benefit concert on April 19th at 7:30 p.m. held at St. Mary’s Church. Lectures at the Josephinum:  The Theological Consortium of Greater Columbus’ Program in World Religions and Inter-religious Dialogue will hold its annual lecture on Wednesday, April 16, 2008. Rev. Dr. Hermen Shastri, General Secretary of the Council of Churches of Malaysia, will present “Multi-Religious Societies in the 21st Century: Lessons from Asia” at 7:00 p.m. in the Jessing Center. Marriage and Family Life Office is sponsoring “Understanding the Annulment Process” at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, at St. Andrew Parish Bryce Eck Activity Center, 3880 Reed Road. Msgr. James L.T. Ruef, Judicial Vicar of the Columbus Diocese Tribunal and Pastor of Holy Name Parish, will explain the Church’s position on divorce and give an overview on the annulment procedure.
