Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Mark Huddy, J.D. will present “Following the Gospel Message in Everyday Life” at The Pontifical College Josephinum. As Catholics we are called to hear the Good News of the Gospel Message and bring it to fruition in our everyday life. One way that we fulfill this responsibility is by practicing social justice. The term “social justice” has been used in many ways in the Catholic tradition, including use as “the virtue that inclines one to co-operate with others in order to better serve the common good.” While the obligation of social justice falls upon the individual, that person can not fully fulfill the obligation alone, but must work in concert with others. Together, they can exercise the right and the responsibility to identify the needs present in society, and by the use of appropriate means, to order society in such a way as to ensure that these needs can be met locally, regionally, nationally, and even globally. Join us for an evening that will lift your spirits and propel you to seek and act on what is good. Mark Huddy, J.D., is the Director of the Department of Social Concerns and since September 1998, Episcopal Moderator for Catholic Charities and Social Concerns for the Catholic Diocese of Columbus. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the Ohio State University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. Mark and his wife Beth have four children and are members of St. Matthew parish in Gahanna.

This presentation is free and open to the public.
