Can You Help? Father Thomas will need some help this Sunday, July 15 to move the contents of the Specht building to the Burkley building.  We will begin after the 9:00 mass.  There should be considerable savings realized by not heating or cooling Specht whenever it is not in use.   School security will also be improved.  Specht has been used in the way some schools use “reading” vans.  So, boxes of books and bookcases and desks will be among the items being moved.  Bring a hand truck if you have one or a refrigerator dolly.

Please Check Your Calendars: Aaron Diehl, one of our distinguished alumni, is kind enough to offer to do a benefit concert for St. Mary on April 18, 19, or 20, 2008.  What possible conflicts do you see?  Please call Father Thomas if you have some information that would help in choosing the best date.

We Want To Know Your Thoughts: Recently, a survey was mailed to parishioners asking their viewpoint on Father Thomas’ proposal to have a three year fund drive for tuition scholarships and other school needs.  Please help out by letting us know what you think. Surveys may be dropped in the collection basket, turned in at the parish office or mailed back to the diocese or parish office by July 27th. If you did not receive this mailing please call the parish office. You may not be on our list!

Monday Confessions: There will be a two month suspension of Monday confessions.  They will resume on September 17 immediately after the noon mass.  There will be a reconciliation service Tuesday evening, August 14.  Watch for the time.  The service will precede the mass for the holy day – the Feast of the Assumption.

Rest In Peace: Ed Thomas recently wrote to mention the death of his cousin Mike Thomas.  Mike did not graduate from St. Mary, since the family moved to Hilliard.  But Ed recalls Mike’s wedding here as very historical.  He states it was the first marriage ceremony in the diocese in which a priest and a minister from another denomination shared in leading the ceremony.  It made the news back then. We also received news that JoAnn Kirby a former parishioner died recently.

Raffle tickets: please turn your raffle tickets in by dropping them in the collection basket, bringing them to the parish office, or mailing them back to the parish. Additional raffle tickets are available at the parish office.

Want To Rep? we currently have one representative on the Bishop Ready High School Advisory Board.  We can have another.  If you would like to represent St. Mary’s parish on the board, please call Father Thomas.
